"Moving killer statues? Really? REALLY?"
Jaeger reached for a gold-filled chest, but yanked his hand back quickly as tiny darts shot out of the wall in the shadows. He turned to reach for a scepter on a gilded pedestal. The second his hands wrapped around it, he heard a groan from above. A gigantic cylinder made of stone fell from the ceiling, nearly pulping him.
"REM!"
Jaeger dashed backwards from the oncoming statues.
"They're ALL booby trapped!"
Remembering the rope that he had brought in with him, Jaeger tied one end to a stone column and threw the other end to Remy on the other side of the room as the stone giants advanced. He hoped Remy would catch on as he dived again to avoid a spear shooting out of the wall.

"Just our luck!" Remy snarled as he caught his end of the rope, just in time to do a Van-Damme split jump to avoid a spring loaded spear in a most painul result! "We get here first and we can't get *any* of the tre-woops!"
He backlipped to avoid a slew of shurikens that sailed from the wall and streaked right where his head had been!
"Incoming!"
He tightened his grip on his end of the rope as the two giants came upon them!

"Where the hell-"
Jaeger dodged a guillotine that swished by.
"Did ancient Romans-"
With a dive, he avoided a spinning blade that suddenly launched out of the column!
"GET THIS CRAP?!"
Holding tight to his end of the rope and bracing himself against the column, Jaeger grunted as the giants tripped on the rope, tumbling down in a dusty, deadly heap! Dust filled the air and Jaeger wiped at his eyes as he tried to clear them to see where the next death trap would becoming from-and where his partner was.
"Rem? You alive man?"

"For now..." Remy groaned as he heaved a pile of rubble off of him and frowned. He held the small of his back as he stood up and stood upright. "Sometimes I wonder why we still go thru all o dis trouble!"
He glanced over toward the end of the cathedral and atop a dais, rested a mound of jewels and other golden goodies...
"Oh yeah! Last one there is a phoney baloney!"

Hoping to outrun the rest of the death traps, Jaeger pulled himself up on top of the rocky heap of former stone giants and raced forwards. Ignoring all of the small chump change treasures seemed to slow down the spears, darts, knives, shuriken, stone weights, spinning death blades, poison gases and spike-filled pits. Jaeger made it to the dais moments before Remy.
"Who's the phoney baloney now, "Mon Ami?'"
Jaeger beamed at his partner as he leaned on the dais and casually rubbed his knuckles on his wifebeater.

And of course there was a small stone lever on the dais that was being leaned on, nad as it 'pushed in,' a trap door opened beneath Jaeger's feet!
Remy dove and snatched his partner's hand beore he fell into a chasm of stone spikes! Remy said nothing as he held on to his partner's hand. He just gave him that 'Gambit grin' he was so well known for (9annoying people with).

*Matt scrabbled into the chamber, looking wexcedingly disheveled. He pushed his hair out of his face, and scowled at the Wyld Boys.*
Really? A giant boulder? You've gotten tired of us avoiding your more "subtle" attempts to remove us, and gone styyraight for giant boulders?
Look, you foul little pirates. I understand. You want the money and nothing more. We're looking fo0r something of cultural significance. Maybe, just this once, we can BOTH get something out of this place, without either of our teams having to sacrifice lives to do it.

Remy held on tight so as not to drop his partner, all the while being the victim of a verbal lashing from one of his two treasure rivals in Matt Murdock. Remy looked back over his shoulder with a look of extreme disbelief on his face as he tried to pull Jaeger up at the same time as avoiding more booby traps!
"Are you nuts!?" Remy shouted at Matt. "You pick a time like DIS to start accusations!? We got bigger things to worry about!"
And he caught sight of the statue of a large, golden hyena flashing with an unearthly power and coming to life!
"Like that!"
