 Garnet had gotten out of bed really early today, the sun hadn't even started to rise, and started making preperations for a journey, she needed to get away and soon, she loved living here, she had quit her job, unsure when she would be back but when she came back she could easily find another job but right now she just wanted to get away, have a break from taking care of moonlits, her job, Lenore and just everything, only one she couldn't leave behind is Zidane and yet she knew it would be hard but she just wanted to get away from responsability for once and go on another journey again. Of course this just wasnt some random thought, she had been thinking about it for a while, she had been remembering her home, her mother, Tantalus, Uncle Cid and Aunt Hilda...everything. Garnet had now changed from her usual princess dress to her orange outfit and the falcon claw she wore when she and Zidane and their other friends first went on their journey, looking around she saw one bag, it was all she needed, it had the essentials, some food, drink, Zidanes gift, she was planning on seeing him before she left, some candy and a couple of daggers...dagger she thought to herself, remembering how she got her allis first time round, it seemed forever that she had been called that, longer since she first dubbed herself with the name, she left a note on the bed and left her room, having said goodbye to every last night and started quietly making her way out of Lenore's home, she didn't know how long she would be away for but when she came back she promised all the moonlits and Lenore a gift each, that was a list she had stuck safetly into her bag snd a photo of everyone, she was going to miss them terribly.

 Zidane lay against a tree and stared off at the sky. Normally he wouldn't be up so early unless the other anthros dragged him out of his bed to play a trick on him but a particular nightmare had roused him from his sleep. Rather than attempting to force himself to sleep, he drifted out of the small cabin and walked the forest until exhaustion took over and he had to stop. Now he had nothing to do but wonder what everyone else was doing now; whether they were in this world or still in the old one. He sighed. He missed the others. It was times like these that he wished when he was reborn into this world the memories would have been stripped from him. But if the memories would have been taken from him, he wouldn't have remembered Blank when it was his mate that made Zidane hers. He wouldn't have remembered Garnet. Running his claws through his blonde hair, Zidane closed his eyes and tried to force himself back to sleep. It was too early to be up now anyway.

Garnet closed the door quietly and started towards the lake, deciding to take one last look before she left, she wanted to see how vast this world was and the memories she had within this small community of Moonlits was just the tip of the iceberg before she went on to see other things but where did Zidane live? She looked up from the lake and carried on, wondering if he even had a place, wasn't it Starreh who his guardian was? She could remember Zidane mentioning her once or twice but she couldn't remember fully if that was actually his guardian or if it was another friend or even Moonlit "please, guide me mother" she said softly to herself as she carried on, searching for Zidane.

If the slight morning breeze hadn't stirred, Zidane probably would have been able to drift off once more and finally catch a few more minutes of sleep before he was expected to carry out his duties for the day for the human he lived with and worked for. The morning breeze brought with it the rich scent of the woods and one he was familiar with. His eyes opened slowly and he rubbed an arm against his eyes.
"Garnet?" Though he was happy that it seemed she was in the general area, he was slightly confused by her presence there. It was so early in the morning. Why was she up so early and what was she up to now? Fully awake now and his curiosity taking hold of him, Zidane pushed himself to his feet easily and let instinct guide him in the direction he knew she would be. The more he walked, the stronger her scent grew and he knew he was growing closer. He glanced around and took note on how far he was traveling away from Starr's cabin and town. What is she doing out here?

Garnet stopped and looked around, having heard footsteps, she took out her staff and held it close to her, planning on summoning one of her eidolons if need be "hello?" She called as she slowly carried on "who's there?" She called once more, trying to stay strong as she carried on, hoping not to run into whatever it was that was comming and, if she did, it was at least friendly.

"Who's there?"
Zidane paused at the sound of the voice calling out and a large grin appeared on his face as he realized how close he really was to her. He leapt easily into one of the trees and traveled quietly on one of its branches. He knew in what direction she was but he didn't know how close she was. He decided he'd try his luck and call out to her. She sounded like she was starting to become scared because he was following her.
"Hey, where are you?" He called in return. "And what are you doing so far out princess?"

Garnet was scared but thats only because it was new unfamilure land to her, at least back home, when she travled with her friends, she knew of the land well enough, maybe it was the first time out of the castle to the lands of the Forgotten Continent and the like but at the very least she knew about them thanks to her old tutor but now this world was new so being scared was only natrual "Zidane? Is that you?" She asked looking up to the trees "and if you show yourself, maybe I can explain myself" she called, putting her bag down and opened up a pocket, taking out the gift for him.

"Yes, it's me." Zidane leapt gracefully from the tree and landed a few feet from her and gave her a tired smile. Yawning and rubbing his eyes, he approached her slowly. "It's so early..." He watched her curiously as she opened her bag and began to go through it. Now that he could get a look at her and realized she was not dressed in her full regalia, He felt himself being pulled back to another time, another place.... She looked so much like the young girl journeying out into the world. "Dagger..." He said softly, using the name she had dubbed herself back then.

Garnet couldn't help it, a couple of tears fell from her eyes once she heard her mate call her by a name she had not heard anyone call her for such a very long time, she may not have known about her mates nightmares but to her, she lived on those memories, they gave her strength, made her laugh and even, at times, made her angry or made her cry and that was something she could never give up, regardless how much they may hurt her at tmes, the memories she made with her friends were some of the most happiest and most precious times she could have ever had in her life, past or present. Garnet took a couple of steps and wrapped her arms around her mate, nuzzling her face into his neck to dry the tears "Zidane, thank you" she said in a whisper as she pulled back and smiled at him. "It had been a while since anyone has called me that, I guess I am thankful that I finally have been called it again, besides you and our friends, no one else knows I even have another name though I guess thats because if anyone else knew it then it would lose the meaning behind it and the memories and significance it holds would lose a bit of their value, I like having it only be something that you and the rest of our friends know, it keeps me sort of connected to you all even if im not with you all and I not only that, I have missed hearing it" Garnet said as she gently placed a soft kiss upon his lips and smiled at him.
"I know it is early but im going away for a while, I dn't know when I will be back but I just want to get away and explore this world a bit, take time out from responsabilities and preasures of life, I have been thinking about home as of late and I have been remembering our friends and family and I miss them all terribly and so I thought maybe taking another journey may help me a little more in keeping the memories fresh and thanks to you and our friends you all taught me how to be strong, mentally, emotionally and physically and so I belive I can easily survive out there on my own and besides, this place isn't exactly ridded with monsters like we had back home so i think I could easily survive out here more then I could back home. I wanted to just come and say goodbye and give you this" she said as she handed him a red valvet pendant box which housed an almost exact copy of the Falcon Claw she owned, she may have the original and the copy may not be EXACTLY like hers since she couldn't find the right materials which made her think that what her claw is made out of is made from material that is only found from her and Zidanes home world but other then the materials being as close as possible to the original...or at least they were good for perfect replica usage then it was as as perfect as one could want the replica to be.
"You are my mate, I couldn't want anyone else in my life, we have been through so much and now we have our own journey here till who knows when we can go back home, I will, of course, always have the original and my mother would kill me if she knew that a replica was made of the Falcon Claw, it is a sign of royalty and, especially since you are just a guy who has a few acting skills under your belt, are a common theif and a terrible kidnapper" she said giggling softly a little, obviously joking "then a replica is never meant to be for you, that is, if one was ever made, but things are different now, you are part of my family, you are the man I want to spend the rest of my life with and this, I guess, now makes you king of Alexandria. It is about time the king recived a royal token to symbolize his new status, even if we are not at home and this, I think, is perfect for you" she said as she looked down at the box, the pendant she had given him was smaller in size, it wasnt so stand-outish like hers was, but it was still big enough to show he now was part of the royal family if anyone ever tried to tell him different and besides, she liked the smaller size of it, she was happy with the original but something not so bulky would of been nicer but hey, its been in her family for generations, she couldn't exactly complain even if she wanted to.
Garnet looked back up at Zidane and softly sighed "who would have thought that a princess would fall in love with a common theif especially when my parents brought me up to follow my heart but I think they would have prefered it if my heart guided me to nobility at the very least, I think falling in love with a common theif was not even the last thing they would have wanted but I do know, if they were alive and, of course, my mother wasn't being minipulated by Kuja, she would come to realise that even a common theif could at least be a knight of the royal guard if his actions speak for him and you have gone above and beyond what any normal 'common theif' would have done. You saved my life on more then one occasion, you became my best friend when I felt I was lost and all alone, you helped save the world when not even Uncle Cid could figure out what he could do to stop it, granted what help he did give us was fantastic and i will always be greatful to him, so Zidane if any 'common theif' deserves to be king it is you and, after a few arguments here and there with mother, I am pretty sure she would agree as well when it came down to it and, of course, Kuja wasn't minipulating her every thought and action.
So, Zidane, I give this to you with all my heart and with the promise that some day, you and I will be king and queen of Alexandria, just like we are meant to be, though can I just ask one small favor? When we have children in the future please don't teach them how to be theives? I want them leading respectable lives, not learning to to pick locks and pick pocket though, and dont tell Stiner I said this, but you can tell them that Stiner adores the nickname 'Rusty'" she said grinning at him, knowing that Stiner hated that nickname, he had gotten used to it thanks to Zidane but still, it annoyed him. Garnet pulled away from Zidane and zipped up the pocket of her bag, put her staff back into the bag and put the bag back on her shoulder "im going to miss you most of all" she said finally starting to cry again "you better wait for me, Zidane, I don't want to hear stories about a monkey boy having entertained other woman whilst I am away" she said smilng at him, knowing he would be faithful but still, it was fun to tease him every now and again.

((Long post is long xD! ))
Still stunned by her appearance and the sudden rush of memories from that past life that had begun to wash over him, Zidane barely registered that Garnet had wrapped her arms around him and had nuzzled her face against him until the faint scent of her tears broke through the memories and he found himself once more in reality. He wrapped his arms around her and was about to ask her why she was thanking him when she launched into her explanation. Happy memories... he had to smile at that.
"Well, you are a queen now. Dagger isn't exactly a queen sort of name is it?" He smiled at her kiss and he bent down to kiss her once more but drew back to continue to listen to her speak. He knew she was going to tell him what she was doing out here so far from her home and town this early in the morning but he wasn't expecting her explanation to be that she was leaving.
"You're leaving?" He asked as he frowned at her. He wasn't worried about her because he knew what she was capable of but it was the fact that she was leaving and while he would remain here..... alone. Though he accepted the gift she handed to him, he was still too stunned to speak as he refused to move past the fact that she was leaving. He looked away from her as she spoke of the future that they would have sometime down the road.
She's leaving... she wasn't even asking him to come along just for old times sake. She was leaving.... and she was leaving him behind.... He reached for her hand and shook his head.
"I know the memories of the past mean so much to you but..." His voice trailed off and he looked away from her again. "Don't go..."

((LOL I am sure I rambled for half of that post at least. XD;; ))
Garnet shook her head "no, I guess it isn't a name fit for a queen" she said as she squeezed her mates hand "and I know, I am sorry I couldn't tell you better news but I just can't stay, just like you couldn't stop being a theif even if you wanted to, some things are in us that we can't get rid of and for me it is needing to get away from here for a while" she said with a sigh, hating that she felt this way but she couldn't change it, not when she would hate staying, even if it was for her mates sake. Garnet pulled her mate close and nuzzled him, since when did Zidane need to be asked? Wasn't it his style to just come along even when he wasn't invited? "maybe hoping you would invite yourself was a bit too much of the old Zidane" she said smiling at him "if you would like, you could always come with me, I wouldn't say no" she said as she kissed his cheek.
"I just also didn't think you would want to come and I didn't want to disrupt your life, I do that enough as it is sometimes, perhaps taking a break from me would of been good for you" she said half joking, reaching up and toying with one of his ears a little "that is, if it isn't too late to offer of course, I truely am sorry for not asking you earlier" she said sincerly, thinking things through and it would be nice to have company from her mate.

He laughed as she pulled him closer to her nuzzled him.
"Inviting myself was my first reaction, trust me but..." He frowned and shook his head. "I've started to second guess my actions. I feel so disconnected from what I used to be and this new life I've been born into. It's so... " He paused, trying to figure out the right way to say it. "It's so frustrating at times."
"And I don't want a break from you." He said as he leaned down to kiss her softly. "I'm not giving you up so easily so you're stuck with me."

Garnet murred happily and nuzzled her mate back and softly frowned "awww my poor baby" she said sincerly even though it probably didn't sound like it "I was taught to ajust to new situations so, for the most part, I have adjusted to this place, it was the royal thing to do if I was ever in a place I didn't really feel like I shouldn't be, it was polite to just not complain and just go with it as best I could, more lady like that way as well. Perhaps, maybe taking a journey with me may help sort yourself out? I understand you are frustrated but maybe time on the road might help you clear your head a little and just understand things a bit better, might help get rid of the frustration?" She sugested to him as she kissed her mate back "and thats nice to know, I didn't truely want a break from you either, I would deffinatly miss you too much so I guess I am stuck with you which, obviously, isn't a bad thing, if I was stuck with Blank then it may have been different" she giggled, obviously teasing, if it wasn't for Blank's help she wouldn't be here today so she did concider him a dear friend.
