Ummm, I don't know how old everyone here is, but I'm 15 and I still live with my parents, the thing is, I'm fascinated with awakening the mind and other activities that include the use of Psychic Energies, but my parents strongly disagree with what I do. They say it is demon's work, and will confistaicate anything they think is encouraging this interest of mine. They've blocked my internet access so I can't look up tutorials, and I really don't think I can live like this. Since they've found out, I've been training in secret, but they seem to know since I'm never given enough time to sit down and meditate quietly, as they always abruptly turn up the volume on something, or come up with some task for me to do. It's not that I don't want to obey them or anything, but being psychic is something I can't give up. any advice on how to deal with this? crying

Maybe just don't tell them anything about it? Or just take a break with it until you're out of the house.

I've got one, Join a club at school with a lot of your friends that will vouch for you, during the time of the club meditate! If that's something you can get in trouble for at school, don't do it.
Let me guess, you live in the south?
OH WAIT, have you tried explaining to them that satanists, while forsaking all ethics, DON'T usually practice magic or psychic abilities. Or that in the original Hebrew texts, The Satan was given a job by Yaweh(God), to tempt humans, and then tell him about it when they died. Or even that Psychic abilities have absolutely nothing to do with god, the devil, or even the prophet Jeshua!

Could be worth a shot though. Although I would feel out the situation very, very carefully.

Another thing would be to sit down with them and ask them exactly how much they know about what you are doing. In all honesty, if they do not know anything about it they should pull their heads out from your business and leave you to it.

I actually have to deal with this with my stepfather unfortunately, the best thing in my experience to do is practice when they think your asleep. Or if you have a type of Mp3 player like an iPod or Zune, turn that on with some simple music that you can zone out to, I personally have found that either classical or techno works best for me. With practice and time you'll be able to practice even with those distractions. Best of luck to you, feel free to PM me with questions I'm more than happy to help 3nodding

well im in the same boat so yeah i found that if your really focused you can meditate with your eyes open and appear to be doing somthing else but its kinda like thought projection so it might not work for all of you but it works for me i have actually done that in my classes and i literally meditate while reading the answers out of my teachers head

That's one of the things you need to learn to do, Block out noise.

In fact you should learn how to block out everything even your thoughts. Yes learning how to meditate with your eyes open will help tremendously. It is considerably harder with the amount of distractions there are around, but it is worth it. I meditated through an entire wedding once.
I feel that your situation was close to mine with my family. They have a strong Catholic background and felt that anything related to psychics was evil. I guess it doesn't help that I'm a neopagan. But anyway I too took to being secretive and I only practiced at night.....which probably relates to my nocturnal tendencies. I tried talking to them about it which was like talking to a brick wall, but if you want to give it a try go right ahead. Mainly I waited until I was out of the house (I'm in college now) to really start training myself.
