"Greetings.." Sayyadina eyed Mudpaw slightly. She was well off enough, with her early preparation for winter, to not ignore males so much in the winter time. She found it nice, on occasion, to make acquaintance in winter for use later in the seasons. If she didn't already have the girls to look over, she may have even allowed a male to court her, sharing a nest for the winter so that eggs would be expected in the spring.

"The girls are having their first winter." She turned her head to Mapes and Watermint. "Always look for the low hanging fruit first, but don't ignore things on the ground either. If something looks too high, try your little claws at climbing." She leaned over, nudging the reticent Mapes from her hiding spot. She would protect the girls if this male started to seem shifty.

"I'm only going to help you girls if you prove to me that you can't."

Mapes skittered under her mother's nose and eyed Mudpaw, rather cutely, as she moved from her hiding spot.

"I can do it mother! Don't worry." She swung her head with renewed confidence and looked around for fruit. "C'mon Mint.. I can call you Mint, right? We can get TONS of fruit. We don't need adults. Next winter we will be experts and we can have nests with eggs.. and we can make males bring us things.."

She paused when she realized the male would be watching, and then turned her head quickly in embarrassment.

Sayyadina chuckled, "They are eager to learn.." She finally was speaking more directly to Mudpaw.

"I am Sayyadina." He may have seen her around or have known her name. She recognized him as being young, just into his adulthood and probably eager to prove himself. She, of course, was a little older and with her habit of trying to help the young (and all adahy) he may have known of her previously.

Despite the fact that she wasn't an elder, she liked to think people knew of her. Ego much?
