Hn, the weather was changing for the worst much quicker than she had hoped. Already the forest was overwhelmed with bare trees, with only patches of orange leaves to be seen clinging desperately to their branches. The ground below, once moist and vibrant, was now hardened under the blanket of fallen leaves. A concerning detail for the female kitsu who stood in the barren woodlands. Twisting her heavy tails, the kitsu swept them forward like a broom against the fallen leaves to allow a clear view of the soil beneath. The sight was not pleasing, and the female pressed her front paws forward to examine her precious element.
No, this wouldn't do. Winter would be far from kind, she feared, if the temperatures were already making blocks of frost out of the normally soft earth.
Closing her eyes in pale aggitation, Setsu counted to ten to organize her thoughts. She'd really rather not reside in the place....what was it called....the Headquarters. There'd no doubt be other kitsusagi seeking refuge there. And with her, admittingly embarrassing, stench of something...ill...she'd rather not dwell near the public. So what now? She'd only traveled so much of these lands, and many would be of no use to her during this season. Where there was snow, there'd be a great threat to her existence. But to stay in this bowl of a valley would be unwise also; surely the snows would drift and gather deeply here as well?
Finding time to be limited before winter strikes, Setsu made her decision. Time to migrate, plain and simple. Though it'd likely be much easier to just lounge in the Headquarter's attic. Privacy, however, wouldn't be a guarantee. Casting red and indigo eyes left and right, the female suddenly frowned as her thoughts were interrupted. As poor as her senses of smell and hearing were, there was the obvious crunch of fallen leaves nearby. And the dull pulse of footfalls on the earth hit her nerves delicately enough to alert her of another in the area. But where? And more importantly, who?
((Depending on schedules, let's try to create a posting order. For now, no physical violence please. Though 'antagonists' can post as lurking/planning in the background. xD ))

Taskashi smiled as he came out of headquarters, bright blue eyes took in the fall landscape, his tails flicked back and forth behind him as he walked into the forest. Maybe he'd find something to do there, or meet another kitsu. It had been rather boring lately; he hadn't seen Celes recently or any of his family besides his oldest brother. He missed bothering Boujima. It was a habit that didn't seem to disappear as he grew.
Takashi continued padding through the forest, a strange smell hovered in the air… Takashi paused and sniffed the air. It smelt like… something dead, a corpse maybe? But it definitely smelt dead whatever it was. Takashi moved from the forest path and following the smell. He wasn’t as skilled when it came to walking quietly as Hakyoku but he wasn’t that bad either… cautiously Takashi came to where Setsu was his robes brushed against the ground rustling the leaves.
“Hello?” he called meekly almost as he neared seeing another kitsu. The smell was much stronger now but he couldn’t find anything dead. He sniffed again.

Winter was coming, and what life it couldn't steal away, it would smother. Hitomi had done all she could to ensure that her gardens might have a chance of outlasting the frost, but mostly she had just collected seeds. She had very few disillusions concerning life and death, and winter meant death to flowers. They would wilt and hibernate, but come spring they might return anew. Some roots grew too deep. And she'd be back, with a pocket full of seeds and an iron determination.
Now, though, now it was time to bide the cold. Her blood was too hot for weather like winter, so she needed to find herself a warm place to stay. In the Headquarters, she was likely to find at least one of her parents, perhaps both. Cold was torture for Gaara, and Akasu was too frail to endure more than hay fever.
A cursory search for the small cabin would reveal neither, however. No matter- they'd be around eventually, she was sure. She was looking forward to it. After wandering for so long, it would be good to spend some time stationary, with things and beings familiar to her. Hitomi pulled herself onto one of the couches for now, abandoning her gourd on the floor so that she could stretch out unweighed. Someone would be around if she gave it some time.

Flicking ears back and twisting her body to the left, Setsu scanned the area just beyond the clutter of thin trees. The soft form of cloth and fur was easy to spot against the harsh bark and the female remained wary as the other was clearly approaching her location. It was only when the other spoke and she heard the relaxed and casual tone to his voice that she allowed her own limbs to unclench. Sounded young enough and too friendly to be a threat.
But all the same, there where two eyes for a reason and she wasn't going to let them at ease.
Stepping forward at her own pace the pale kitsu drew near to the other individual. Making certain that she was easily in sight so as not to startle the other....though it would be mildly entertaining, the female paused when she was a good distance in front of the male. "Over this way." She made no gesture of waving or even nodding to the stranger, and just swept her tails over her ankles. Nothing more than a mandatory greeting to alert each other of their presence. Although.....
"Hn, would you happen to know which direction leads to the Headquarters?"

Walking closer the half-youkai got a better look at Setsu, She seemed normal. Takashi tilted his head before wrinkling his nose. The smell burnt his overly sensitive nose. She called back and Takashi nodded with a toothy smile. "Yep sure do, I just came from there." his brown tails wagged like a youthful kit, one could have sworn Takashi hadn't grown up any despite his size. "I came out here cause I smelt something." Heightened senses were a family trait. Maybe she knew what that smell was it was pretty strong here after all...
"You don't know what that smell is do you?" he placed a paw over his nose for a moment. Before laughing a little and bring his paw down. "I didn't introduce myself." he said with a smile"My Name's Takashi, what's yours?" Takashi was definitely nothing like his brother. Hakyoku at the time was sitting quietly in HQ reading a book about the strange mythical creatures from grandfather's old home. Hakyoku sat on top of a the bookshelf in one of the cabin's corners. Takashi had just left rather cheerfully, but then again when wasn't Takashi happy about something. Leaves fell outside the window the rustling noises cause Hakyoku to look up from his book for a brief moment before his cyan eyes returned to the text on it's pages.
The door opened and another kitsu entered, Hakyoku knew this one was approaching long before the door even not even passing a curious glance to the kitsu whom just lay on the couch.

Ears peeled back to the other pale kitsu's statement. Something smelled eh? Well even with her own nose fairly useless, Setsu could easily guess what the source of the odor was. Not that she's say anything though. Shrugging lightly, the female offered no comment on the issue.
Although, if he could smell it imagine what the residents at HQ would say. =.= Should she change her destination then, if it'd be such a concern? No, that wouldn't work out well. These lands were all low enough to be blanketed thoroughly in snow; and caves would only offer so much support. She would need a building to get by this season, no doubt.
Twitching her tail as the other covered his nose for a moment, Setsu withheld her calm composure. "The smell...perhaps it's just the trees of this forest. In any case, I'm Setsu. Now then, you said you know where this building is? Mind pointing out the way, do you?" The sooner that she got out of the cold, the better.

"Nope it's different than the trees," he replied instantly the trees had a very distinct smell, even the fallen and rotting ones "I Have a reeeaaallly good nose." He explained flicking his ears. Takashi smiled "Here it's this way." turned around
If he'd had more time to sniff he would have been able to figure out what was causing it, there was probably a corpse behind the other kitsu berried in the ground or something.
"I'll take you to HQ instead." he smiled as he started back the way he had come.

Ears gave the faintest twitch as Setsu canted her head to the side. "Beats me then." This fellow had a remarkably sharp nose, and rather than continuing with false hints, the femme decided it safer to drop the topic. Especially after he pointed out his own talent with jolly. Though honestly the undead gal was bemused that the other wasn't having a nosebleed due to the specific scent.
Nodding in quiet agreement, Setsu followed some safe distance behind Takashi. Together the pair moved with swift ease, their paws crossing the ground in the lightest of taps as they traveled. It was easy to notice trails in the ground the further they moved from the woodlands where leaves before tried to cover their paths. Tucking away the local details of the area, the pale kitsu made sure to familiarize herself with this part of the land for further reference. If anything, they were in the opposite direction of those mountains.
Feeling like it was but moments later the trees began to grow sparse and their scope of visibility grew. There looked to be a wide range of open land just ahead, though it was just as brown and brittle as the terrain within the woods. And just there, a little off to the left, stood a heavy and lone structure. By its large and well kept structure, Setsu figured it to be the Headquarters.

That smell was still following... Takashi frowned as he continued to walk forward. There was no way it would be the kitsu behind him right? Takashi glanced over his shoulder. She looked alive, and she moved. Takashi paused in front of HQ before spinning around and taking a large whiff.
"Owowowow...."
His nose simply felt as though it burst into flame. That wasn't the smartest thing in the world that was for sure. His paws instinctively flew to his nose. Brown curls fell across his face. He wished there was something else just as strong so he could get the scent out from his nose.
"The smell is you..." he said his voice muffled by his paws.
"Takashi?" Hakyoku questioned looking up from his book finally He was back already? He knew Setsu was coming by her distinctive 'dead' smell but her smell had been masking his brothers. Which was apparent as soon as Takashi spoke. They'd come in eventually he glanced back at his book before gently closing the pages and placing it beside him.
Hakyoku stood before walking outside in the cold air. Sure enough there was Takashi holding his nose and Setsu.

With soft and cautionary steps, Setsu drew nearer to the building with each tree she passed. It looked fairly empty for the most part, but who knew what dwelled inside the massive structure. If she recalled correctly, the headquarters was known to have many rooms and halls. Getting to a lone room without too much hassle might prove to be more challenging than she originally planned.
Flicking one ear to the side, the kitsu tilted her head back at her tour guide and frowned at his outburst. Must he really be so sensitive and calculating with his sense of smell? Shrugging her shoulder, the pale female took a step away casually. "I suppose it must be, as bothersome as it is. Though you may go your own route now, as you've brought me to my destination. To that I'm grateful." Unless of course he planned to follow into the building also?
With her attention on the flailing male and her thoughts on all possible troubles to avoid, Setsu had missed the distant sound of the cabin door opening. For now, she had her paws full keeping Takashi placid.

"It's not that bad as long as I stand a few more feet away." He said his voice muffled, it was an innocent and honest comment though most would find his bluntness offensive sometimes Takashi wasn't aware he sometimes could hurt other kitsu's feelings. He was just to immature still even though he was fully grown in body. It was going to be at least a week before he could smell properly again he was sure. Unless he asked his mom to help him with magic. "I was going to see my brother I could smell him in there a little..." at least that was when he could smell.
"Anue!" Takashi exclaimed as he saw Hakyoku he brought his paws off his burning nose and bounded over to his big brother and past Setsu. Takashi gave his brother a large hug.
Yep that was definitely Takashi smell and all. Hakyoku Hardly reacted when Takashi gave him a hug sides patting his little brother on the back and giving him a light hug in return though a light smile crept itself onto Hakyoku's muzzle. It was almost impossible for one not to be charmed by the innocent baby of the family.
"Setsu it's nice to see you again." He gave a little bow of greeting.

Setsu could only watch on in distant bemusement to the young male's disorientation. Perhaps it was a blessing for herself that her nose wasn't as strong as it potentially could be. Else she'd be in a dead faint over her own reaking condition. No pun intended.
Dusting off her left shoulder as if that would help ease the smell, the kitsu flipped her ear back as Taka suddenly leaped in joy. Following his path with her eyes, Setsu couldn't help lifting her brow to a newly discovered detail. Taka's mentioned kin was actually the dark kitsu that she had once met in the dark of night. What had his name been? The femme shuffled through her sluggish memory before landing on the information she needed.
Keeping to her location, Setsu nodded in reply to the darker brother's greeting. "Hakyoku. What an unexpected occurrence to cross your path again." Dulled eyes slid to glance at the cabin, then upward in regard to the weather. While it was calm with fair temperatures, the daylight was slowly dwindling away behind the webbed collection of clouds overhead. Maybe they could expect rain tonight?
"Tell me Hakyoku, is the cabin vacant of any crowds?" As adapted as she was to the outdoors, the promise of soft furniture was tempting at this point.

"A strange occurrence indeed though not unwanted." the black male couldn't help but agree he had actually quite wanted to talk to the undead female again since they seemed to share a few things, one of which was they weren't widely accepted by most. Hakyoku gave a nod "It is, there is only one inside at the moment." Hakyoku's tails swished once gracefully.
"There are quite a few vacant rooms." he motioned to HQ. He Glanced at Takashi for a moment, a hint for the younger to get off.
Takashi slid off, "I didn't know you knew her." Takashi smiled up at his big brother. "Hey, hey I can show you around!" she spoke eagerly. He loved showing people around, and it might even give him a chance to show his brother some magic he had been working on.
HE smiled at Setsu "I didn't know you were Nii-san's friend." He gave a little bow "Sorry about earlier." he said his nose twitching a little still.

The short kitsu nodded faintly, while glancing back towards the building as if measuring up it's potentials. It certainly was better than remaining out here in the cold, if anything. And if there were plenty of rooms, well, she'd just snatch the most remote location. "One kitsu is no bother to me. I'm rather interested to take a tour of the building now. Do you two brothers plan to tag along?" Perhaps they were just now leaving, and she had cut them both off from there destination unwittingly.
Not that it was a nuisance to her, as they were both pleasant enough as company. Even the younger one, despite his boisterous energy. He was still even willing to show her the sights. Setsu waved her paw to Takashi's concerns. "Don't worry, I'm not offended. And likewise, I was aware Hakyoku had kin....just never expected to bump into them."
Politely anxious, the femme kept up conversation with the duo as they approached the HQ and entered through the doorway. Her ears brushed the back of her neck as her eyes peered at the high ceiling and wide open room. It almost seemed cozy. Nose twitched at the scent of another in the room, and a quick glance showed red hair draped off the side of a lush couch. A sleeping kitsu, maybe?

Hitomi really tried not to be a rude girl, as simply butting into someone's conversation would suggest. However, she kept getting the itching feeling that she'd heard one of those voices before. And the smell that came filtering in with the pair of kitsus was... unique. Finally, the redhead decided to indulge her curiosity, shifting up to lean over the back of the couch, peering at the small group that had formed. No one could chide her for just looking, after all.
She was greeted with a familiar sight, her ears twitching faintly against the thick mane of scarlet. A small smile quirked her lips. "Hey," She addressed Setsu with dry amusement, "Don't I know you?"
And that brunette male... he looked fairly familiar too.
