Okay..
So, for quite some time, a few years, actually, every few months or so, I'll get one or two small red bumps down in the pubic area. At first, I wasnt concerned about it, because Ive been getting them since before Ive had any sorts of sexual contact at all. But then I thought back, and there was one time that I shared a sex toy with someone. Im 99% sure they dont have any sorts of diseases or the like, but Im rather concerned, now.
Ive done tons of research about herpes and genital warts, to see if I match the symptoms, and I do not. These bumps look like ingrown hairs. I often irritate the bumps by pubes out from around the bump, and it swells.
A couple of years ago, when I first lost my virginity, I went to my doctor and had STD tests done, and I showed negative for all of the tests, but Im still not completely convinced. I dont want to go on not knowing what is happening, and at the same time, I dont want to worry myself if it is just an ingrown hair or whatnot.
Has anyone experienced something like this? Any advice as to what I should do?

If you've been tested and the tests come back negative, then it isn't an STD.

Do you shave down there? If so, it probably is just either ingrown hairs or irritation from shaving. I get little bumps down there all the time from shaving, and it isn't anything to worry about. Some people just have more sensitive skin than others, and there isn't anything much you can do about it.

It could also be pimple or boils - completely normal... just annoying

Hmm.
Firstly, thanks to you both..
I do shave, but only when Im going to be involved with someone, and that hasnt been for a while..

And Ive never thought of it being a boil. Can one get those down there? o.O

Teeny tiny red bumps are (in my experience) pimples and/or ingrown hairs. A boil would be bigger, more noticable. And you don't have to shave to get ingrown hairs xp

Are they always in the same spot?

If you're really worried, I'd go in one more time and just explain what's been happening and have them run that test again to be sure. It's better safe and knowing then worrying all the time.

Agreed.

And excellent advice. When in doubt, don't muck around. Go to a doctor, explain exactly what it looks like, however you get it, etc... Give your doctor all the information you can. My bet is on a pimple or something similar, but a doctor can do a lot more than "bet." A doctor can actually tell you what's wrong wink

I've experienced this. Don't worry. Nothing's wrong, but I'd still see a doctor if it gets worse or if it doesn't heal.

If you've had negative STD tests, then it's probably just ingrown hair or clogged pores (pimples). The time to worry is if they don't go away or if you have some other symptoms of an STD.

I would say probably it's something along the lines of pimples or irritation from shaving.

HOWEVER...it can take up to six months for signs of an STD to develop and tests taken prior to six months after your LAST sexual encounter could be a false negative. I would talk to a doctor and maybe get another test if they think it's something.

If it's an ingrown hair, it's usually really easy to tell. Is it over a hair folicle? Is there a hair right underneath the surface of the skin that's folded back down, and you can pull it out?
Honestly, anything you're not sure about should be taken to your doctor. It's their job.
