Anybody like them? I mean, besides Sweet Home Alabama. They had some pretty good guitarists. NOt so sure about modern times though, I've only heard their older stuff. "I Ain't The One" has some awesome guitar style in it, and I like their attitude.

Your talking to an avid fan here. imo, Gary Rossington and Allen Collins are among the best guitarists ive heard. Their older stuff is just wonderful, and has a much more southern feel to it than their new stuff (Edge of Forever(1999) and Vicious Cycle(2002-3?) are their newest albums). The newer stuff sounds nothing like the old skynyrd we once new, its much heavier, but still te same great band.

You're prolly not going to believe this, but i know Gary Rossington personally. Yup, my step-dad and his nephew were like, best friends. But he's kind of an a**-hole. He's let the whole rock-star thing get to his head and he thinks he's God. He's not a very nice person.

On a similar note, one of my good friends is Brian Johnson's neighbor, the singer from AC/DC. If I get to meet him I'll post a picture so you believe me.

Lol i'd love to meet Brian Johnson. Though i have had a conversation with Charlie Daniels....

And i believe Gary Rosington's an a**, but that still dont change his guitar greatness. Hell, Yngwie's an a** too!

Some of the first songs I learned on guitar were Lynyrd Skynyrd. I like them a lot and I think my fav three songs of theirs are:

The Ballad of Curtis Lowe
That Smell
Freebird

I wasn't too big on them for a while, or course Freebird was amazing but most people do. It was only untill I heard their greatest hits CD that I was hooked, they have a really good sound to them and I saw them live which was insane. My buddy and I got to the pit just in time for Freebird and I will never forget it.
