hello, im one of the newer people to join this guild, t0k0.

my real name is james (yes i know. my avy is female, i am not) and im a culinary specialist, 3rd class in the US navy. (CS3, equivalent to corpral, or e-4 or or-4 if your in the nato branches.) anyhow, i went IA (individual augmentee: a program for sailors to basically become soldiers for a while. my term is a whole year) to afghansitan the place is alright i suppose, but its nothing like america... i miss california...

I thought about doing IA back when I used to be a Corpsman(I did the Marine s**t too but never deployed because I got stuck in a hospital). But I joined the Army instead and into a combat MOS. When I saw you post "IA" I was thinking "Iraqi Army" because that's what we call them here in Iraq.

Do you guys even go on missions?

Even though I was on a base thats been there a while with a PX it was not well stocked (hell they did not even carry female products!). I never missed Wallmart more than when I was overseas. xd

Best wishes on this holiday season then. Some of you guys make the best damn birthday cakes ever when underway.

[it3 here, never been on a ship but have rode one. yay tad orders.]

I'm aiming to get Bahrain as my next station since they won't deploy a new mother or anything. I figure Bahrain is as close as it gets and I can bring my family too.

Steven Segal's character was "just a cook" in Under Seige so don't sell yourself or your MOS short. Remember the Army/Navy runs on its stomach. Oh and paperwork. Lots and Lots of paperwork. (I served in the Army as a Pharmacy Tech. I spent hours and hours on paperwork)
