It was a calm, cool day in the Nightmare Valley, and Saiden was bored out of her damn mind.
'There has got to be something to do around here,' she thought to herself, 'I mean, this place is almost as boring as Dream Valley. The only damn company I have is a stupid bouncing seashell, and its no fun kicking it around anymore.'
"I just wish.." Saiden paused, knowing that she must think this through a bit before wishing. "Ah to hell with it. I wish I had someone to keep me company and hang out with!"
This was one of those moments that you could go either way in the cosmic scheme of things. Saiden just sat there hoping that things would 'perk up' around here.
It seems that Saiden was not alone when she shouted out her wish; for a newcomer to the Nightmare Valley was flying in at that very moment.
"So... tired.. Such a long.. flight..."
"Hm? Who said that?" Saiden's ears perked up at the sound of a faint voice in the wind,
"Who's there?" A giddy feeling had begun to rise up within Saiden's belly and her heart started to flutter. 'New blood in the Valley. This could spice things up around here.'
"Can't.. keep going.. Oh no!" A loud shriek followed the voice this time, and it was getting louder.
Panic striken, Saiden leapt to her feet and started galloping in the direction of the voice. "Whoever you are, don't worry." shouted Saiden, "I'll help you out!"
'Or at least I'll try to help anyway I can' she thought.
"This isn't going to be very pretty~!"
Those were the last words that Saiden heard before everything went dark.
"Are you alright?"
A soft voice and a light nudge brought Saiden back to consciousness.
"Wha.. what happened? The last I remember I was running to help someone," Saiden said with a shake of her head. As her vision cleared, a beautiful mare appeared almost as if Saiden had conjured her out of her thoughts.
The strange new mare began to blush under Saiden's stare. "My name is.. Raeven. I'm sorry, but it seems that my flight in was longer than expected. I kinda.. landed on you," Raeven said with a an uneasy but apologetic smile, "Thank you very much for saving me."
Raeven looked around awkwardly, "And now I'm kind of lost it seems, I'm not quite sure where to go to meet up with the ponies of my new herd. I was given a few names, but that doesn't help me much."
Snapping out of her slight daze, Saiden offered, "Maybe I can be of some help, I've lived here quite sometime and know most of the ponies around here. Who is your owner? Or should I say, who were you sent here to look for?"
"The nice lady told me to see some mare named Say-den and said to be careful because she could be a bit aggrivated," Raeven smiled softly, "Do you, by any chance, know who that is?"
"Nice lady, huh? Would her name happen to be Ravenloue by any chance?" sighed Saiden, "Because I'm the Saiden you're looking for."
A look of surprise and embarrassment came over Raeven's face and caused her to look away, "Sorry, I didnt..."
Noticing that Raeven was shying away from her Saiden interjected, "No, no, no, you haven't done anything wrong. Please don't be sad."
Unsure of what to do next, Saiden offered, "Let me show you where you'll be staying at. Ravenloue's got us a pretty nice setup going on out here."
Raeven followed Saiden, still silent, mostly unsure of what to say next.

A few weeks have passed since that fateful day when the two mares first met. New additions had come to the herd, and a welcome party was in the works.
"So who is all going to be there tonight? Because I don't wanna piss Raven off too much"
"First off, Don't be such a sissy. Its just a couple of small pranks. Nothing harmful... I promise," a smirk flashed across Saiden's face, "and secondly, Dryll, Fox and Midna have all promised to show up. Lets see.. then there are the newbies: Daish, Elder, Oni, and Kokuryu.. Who had all better show up.. this damn party is just for them anyways. Other than that, I'm not too sure."
A look of utter confusion fell across Raeven's face, "How is Dryll going to be there? Isn't he supposed to stay in the water??"
Saiden just shook her head, "You know you really are lucky that you're cute. I don't think I could put up with your empty-headedness otherwise... But anyway, we.."
"Hey!" Raeven interjected, "Thats not very nice, Saiden. I mean sure we might live in Nitemare Valley, but that doesn't mean you have to be hateful like that."
"Now now, I was just joking with you hun. No reason to get upset," Saiden moves closer to Raeven and nuzzled her gently, "Now as I was saying, Raven has set up a pool for him I think. He can get on land, but its just easier for him to swim."
Raeven nuzzled her back, "So then, whats the devious plan?" She could hardly hide the excitement in her voice, "Laced candy? Sugar-free ice-cream? Oh no, don't tell me.. Off-brand colas?!" she asked, giddily clapping her hooves together.
"You're thinking too small, my dear," Saiden sighed and patted Raeven on the head, "I'm thinking.." She paused for dramatic effect, "Gelatin in the swimming pool!! It will get EVERYWHERE."
She began cackling like a madwoman, "This will get Raven back for being a pain in my hide, and for making me babysit Dryll when he was stuck in that damned shell! She'll never be able to get it all off! Its gonna be worse than going to the beach and getting sand stuck in your swimsuit!"
Raeven cackled as well, then paused. "But wait, how will we get Raven in the pool? And I'm sure Dryll will notice that its not normal water." She sighed.
"This isn't fair," Saiden glared at Raeven for a moment, "You always find ways to ruin my fun." She plopped down on the ground disheartened.
"Aww, I'm sorry Saiden." Raeven pouted, "I didn't mean too. I was just trying to figure it out. Maybe we just need to be a little more sneaky."
