Jackie walked cheerfully along the beach, her eyes scanning the scenery before her, taking in as much of the whole wonderful place as she could at one time. She didn't really have a destination in mind at this point; her first impulse that day had been to get up and explore the island. And so, that's exactly what she did, packing a granola bar or two, and starting on down the beach. Jackie wasn't even sure how long she had been walking. Perhaps a little less than a half an hour? She gave a mental shrug. Her internal clock had never been very reliable. She was pretty sure she was getting close to the third cabin though, since she could see it's outline in the distance. She glanced down at the sparkling water, and then looked again as something caught her eye. Jackie grinned, stopping and crouching down by the water. Glittering little minnows swam about in the waves, glinting in the sunlight. With a wild shout, she abruptly threw aside her hoodie and plunged into the cold water. She knew perfectly well that it was impossible to catch minnows, but it was always fun watching them scatter. After a moment or so of splashing around in the shallow water, she suddenly stood stock still, watching with child-like glee as the minnows all came swimming back, their curiousity getting the best of them. They nibbled at her toes, and she had to keep herself from laughing and scaring them away again.

From the cabin, out for a stroll, came Jeremy. His usual suit was replaced with a t-shirt and jeans, and he wasn't carrying a book for a change.
However, the man blinked upon seeing someone jumping in the water nearby. Hey, wasn't that that girl? The one who'd adopted Gloria as her grandmother? He couldn't remember if that was her or the other girl to be exact, but still, the man thought it'd be polite to greet her.
Approaching slowly, the blonde eventually got a glimpse of the minnows she was attempting to catch a glimpse of. Remaining slow in his walking, Jeremiah tried not to startle them all away. He even spoke softly - why ruin her fun?
"Good morning."

Jackie started slightly and looked up as she heard a man's voice from behind her. "Oh hello," she said with a smile, not seeming in the least bit embarrassed at being caught acting so childishly. She stiffled a giggle when the momentarily frightened minnows returned and continued their nibbling. "Jeremy, right?" She had a knack for names. Besides that, he had been the only guy on the boat. It would have been rather difficult to get his name mixed up with one of the other's.
Casting one last glance at the tiny fishes, Jackie stepped out of the water, retrieving her sweatshirt from the ground where it had fallen. She hadn't worn any shoes, which was probably just as well, as she was soaked from the knees down.
"Exploring the island too?" she asked amiably, putting her sweatshirt back on. It was actually a pretty warm day, but she really didn't feel like carrying it around. Wearing it was easier.

"Hm? Oh, no I'm mostly just out for a walk." Jeremy* explained with a friendly smile. "I'm sorry but I think I've forgotten your name. Which is a bit sad since you remember mine." he laughed then, a deep and rich sound. She'd left the minnows so it should be okay.
"I take it you are exploring then?"
(* - it's bad when I forget my own character's name and write the wrong one XD His name's Jeremiah, often called Jerry but Jeremy works too so either way)

"Nah, don't worry about it," she said, "I'm Jackie." She smiled back as she fished around in her pocket for a granola bar. The chocolate chips in it might be a litte squished and melted, but that didn't bother her.
"Yup," she answered, taking a bite, "New places are always fun, ya know?" She produced another, rather squashed looking granola bar from her hoodie's pocket. "Want one?"
[xD Oh, all right. Jackie can switch over to calling him Jerry if you'd prefer though.]

"Ah, no thanks." the blonde said, shaking his head a bit at the offer, "I'm not much for chocolate or most granola bars." he explained. That and the thing looked a bit squished, but that would be rude to point out so he left it be.
"I haven't taken much time to explore this place, myself. I've mostly been working. It's good that you're enjoying yourself though."
