Post your paranormal encounters, ect. Ghost and spirits have been following me since age six. My first incounter with the paranormal was this: A few days after my Grandpapa died, I was going out to eat with my family. When they walked out the door, I looked back to see a white figure sitting on the steps of my stairwell. I think it's wierd but, it happened...Post your stories

Nice way to become active, Ringo xD
I've seen numerous shadow figures, and have heard numerous voices throughout the years. I haven't had a significant encounter yet, but I hope sooner or later I will.

I've seen full body apparitions, heard voices, and I've been poked and had my hair pulled with force when I couldn't find an explanation. I've also had the blanket pulled off of me when I was in bed and other strange things happen.

I've seen something that no one has yet been able to name, only a few can give guesses like changeling or unseely fae. I've seen what was once called a brimstone magician but I've never found any literature on it to describe it. I've been visited twice by my grandfather in the form of a dove. I've tracked and been tracked by several cats which seem to live in the shadows or just out of my line of sight.

I woke up in the middle of the night once when I was, maybe, 5 or 6 to see a huge round white cloudy face smiling back into mine, not a finger's length away then suddenly vanish. Scared me so much, I swore I never wanted to see another apparition again, (and I never have.)
Mostly, my experiences tend to take place when I'm trying to sleep. There will be a point where I'm not quite asleep and not quite awake where I think I'm awake in my bed and an invisible body comes and sits heavily on the bed, or on me, or pins me down. I usually wake up swinging from dreams like this.
One event like this that still stands out in my mind was when I thought I woke up to a baby crying next to me. I turned towards it, feeling it laying on my arm. I shushed it when it cried, trying to hold onto it, but it was getting heavier and heavier. It felt like a bowling ball, then a hundred pounds all on one spot on my arm, sinking down, through the bed. It hurt like hell!
I don't know if its just night terrors or what, but its always opened my mind up to the possibility that that was the only way I could communicate with spirits.

That's pretty creepy Dogstongue. Though it sounds so similar to sleep paralysis it's hard to say for sure.

Exactly. although, my room mate at the time was experiencing the same thing as me, and it was even a first for him. Even for a Christian, he seemed somewhat convinced it was spirits. I'm not saying it was or wasn't, simply that its been one of the main things that motivated me to explore the paranormal.
actually, I did a lot of research on sleep psychology before I was really interested in ghosts. I am familiar with a lot of the weird things people see/do/experience in their sleep. In fact, a lot of people who claim to see ghosts at night have seen them from their bed upon waking in the middle of the night, which of course raises suspicions to if they really were awake. Everything I've experienced in my night terrors has been in my room from my perspective laying in bed, with all of my senses telling me that everything to specific detail is real; even after I wake up, I'm still a little disoriented and can't tell if I'm still dreaming.

Well if everyone who stays there ends up suffering from it and only in that place that sounds more paranormal. And from what you've said it sounds like you were very aware of it, and were able to function and move so it doesn't sound exactly like sleep paralysis.
I've had experiences waking up at night (well during the day because I used to be up during the night) and the blankets would be tugged off or I would feel a pressure like someone was climbing into bed when nobody was there. It was before we had pets and my fiance would always be in the other room watching TV and on the computer. I woke up and saw something hovering over our bed, so I rolled over and pulled the blanket over my head and tried to ignore it. I'm always afraid that if I pay attention to whatever it is it will make things worse. I also had very loud whispering next to my head and it wasn't my fiance or neighbors, again I'd just roll over and tug the blanket over my head, letting it continue but ignoring it.
I was pretty aware, and able to move and see clearly. Plus it was bright in our bedroom because the curtain was thin so the room was always well lit. My fiance would have similar experiences as well when I wasn't even there.
So I don't know, I believe some people depending on details of the event but most stories sound too much like sleep paralysis to believe. I've tried to debunk my own experiences and find answers but I usually end up with nothing to explain it. I know I didn't move, and it wasn't my fiance moving the blanket because I was awake and aware, trying to see how the blanket was being moved. It was always tugged fast and/or hard and not like it was just falling off the bed or something.

Thats crazy! I've never had anything that vivid when I was fully awake. (not since I was little.)
I usually have the opposite of sleep paralysis in the morning. I wake up with my hand next to my face like I'm talking on an invisible phone or eating a delicious invisible sandwich. XD And usually, it really feels like I'm holding something in my hand until I move or open my eyes. Or I wake up fighting invisible assailants.... Sleep paralysis clearly isn't working for me.

Haha, reminds me of the sad dreams... You dream about getting or having something you really want, wake up all excited thinking you still have it and you don't. crying
