Awhile ago, before Lich King hit, guildies from Bleeding Hollow all decided to move to Skywall. I made a new character on Skywall to check it out before following them with two characters. We're all Alliance.
There was a falling out, as things are wont to happen, and I'm not primarily on Rexxar and am now Horde.

I miss my druid. I left him behind on Skywall, level 72, and I miss playing him.
I know that eventually I'll faction switch him and move him over to Rexxar but I want to wait til they release more info on Worgen and Troll Druids, as in, I wanna know what their forms are going to be.

The question is... Do I move my Druid over to Rexxar now and faction switch him later when more info is available? Or do I wait it out in the hopes that eventually faction changing will come with its own server transfer in one lump cost?

I'm thinking that if I move him over to Rexxar to be with me then at least I can level him up whilst I wait for more info to become available, whereas if I leave him where he is he's just going to keep getting neglected.

It makes sense to move him now but... I don't know what to do.

I'd say, if you really want to play him, do it now. Chances are you won't be able to switch to any of the new races (Or race-class combos) right away, so you might end up waiting quite a bit, as well as it being doubtful they would merge two paid services for the cost of one.

I'd start now, 3.3 will be out soon and from there it's the random instance grind for gears. 3nodding
I would faction change him, not only because your main could then support the druid, but the druid then could send extra money back as well.

I agree with the above, if you love playing your Druid I would server transfer him. You can level him up to 80 and enjoy content at the current max level while waiting for Cataclysm. The Worgen/Troll choice will be a future decision, and you could potentially save money if you leave him as alliance, if you decide you want him Worgen.

I agree that you probably won't be able to switch to worgen right when Cataclysm comes out, but you may be able to switch to troll since it is not a new race. But even if you can't, you'll probably have more fun with your druid on your new server smile

It's definitely a possibility that you'd be able to, but Blues have mentioned that they're not too fond of the first level 85 new race/class combo characters (Troll Druid, in this case) being characters that were already 80 when the expansion hit.

So it's definitely more likely you'll have to wait to change into one of them until an arbitrary amount of time has passed. (Like how new realms won't accept transfers for a couple of months or whatever)

at least you dont have to worry about your carcter getting deleted for no use.

Currently this will never happen. Unless they decide at a later date to remove characters due to inactivity (Seriously doubtful), your characters will never be deleted unless you do it yourself. Someone could have made a character the day the game came out, not played it until today, and that character would still be there.

If you're not sure about something, you're more than welcome to ask. Please don't spread false information, though.

I think.. after I get some gold together by selling crap on my other toons on Skywall and sending it to my druid.. I'll move him over to Rexxar but leave him Alliance for now.

I may not be able to faction/race change him immediately upon Cataclysm striking but at least he won't be neglected too much.

Plus, if it turns out the Troll/Worgen forms suck eggs (and mmo will surely "leak" this info) then at least its only another cost to turn him into a Tauren (with a name already reserved incase that happens) because I think you're right, Void, they probably won't lump faction/race and server change into one cost though I wish they would. They don't need to lessen the cost, just make it one fee so that there's less fiddling.

would leave it alliance for now to save money then lvl it to 80 and switch later. on the upside, if you keep it alliance you can mess with your friends ingame.
