I had an idea for a vampire story once. I had planned for a human family, to have already have young children around the time the parents are bitten and then for the parents to raise their children as normally as possible while maintaining their alternative life as the undead. While this goes on, the parents eventually tell their children of the secret and when the children come of age (18yo) they would be given the choice of being changed themselves. By doing this, it allowed the characters to have children but also kept to the whole "vampires don't age" thing.
That sounds really interesting actually.
I'm wondering what would happen if a chick got turned while they were knocked up. Would that effect their kid...? That'd be an interesting story plot too...
