Akkk pity I wasn't a hippie in the year 2000 when a world gathering was held in northern NSW, Australia... wish they would have another one there!! it's full of hippies down there, it's really awesome. I would really like to go to one of these!

I had a friend, well more of a random guy I met when he stopped in town on his way towards Bonnaroo, that told me about the rainbow gatherings. He said it's a great experience, and you'll come back a changed person with a completely new outlook on life. NEVER pass up the opportunity if you really care about the world and living in it. So I would go if I were you... I just wish it could be closer to me so I could go.

every year, for thirteen years, a local town has been hosting Witchstock. it sounds like a combination of the rainbow gathering, and a rennassiance festival, only the events focus on paganism.
i would go, but i talked to a friend today who has already gone to it a few years ago. she said it was really awesome...[she paused]...until a group of overzealous Christians showed up... they singled out a black woman, and cornered her behind some tents. they tied her to a pole, and attempted to light the ground near her on fire. they were trying to murder her. [fortunate enough, the ground was slightly wet, and it wouldnt catch.]
...i dont think ill be very welcome in texas, trying to start a gay-support club... XP

They have Rainbow gatherings everywhere.
Theres the world wide, the national (in most countries), the state/provincial and sometimes even county/regionals.
I've only been to barter faires in the Pacific Northwest.
This year I'm hoping to go to where ever the rainbow gathering in California is...
And Coachella!
Here is come info on this year's national US gathering.
