Thirded. Also, Green Day isn't really punk rock. They sound more like The Jam.

Their early early stuff was close to it, but this American Idiot crap is far from it. Very commercial.

I respectfully disagree. There's an astonishing range of sounds available in the punk genre, if one bypasses the noisome smegma which pretends to be "punk" these days.

Take "Sean Flynn" by The Clash, for example. There's no distortion of any discernable type, nor are there any power chords in the song.

Lars Vocals/guitar Travis Barker Drums bass i dunno many bassists, so id say mike dirnt/timmy C.

Powerchords might help a bit. It also depends on the amp channel your on. Just go really fast and don't have finger picking.
