I'm a sophomore in high school and I'm second chair there. I practice decently (roughly 2 hours per day) and I made second chair in our parish (same as a county) honor band. On the sheet, i noticed that my tone score was not as good as i was led to believe it was. This has spurred me onto an extensive internet search when i realized that the internet is possibly not the best place to look (we all know google takes us to odd places.) I'm wondering if anyone out there has some practice tips for a darker tone. i already have that bright (not overly) lead sound nailed from marching band.
