They need receivers... But Farve is just an all around good QB. I support him fully. lol

I can't stand "fair weather fans" as I like to call them. Unfortunately I've seen plenty of them in my lifetime. I especially don't like the ones that switch over to my team every now and then. Don't watch a game and then switch teams just because "your" team is losing. Heck we lost to Tampa Bay this season (no offense to all of you Bucs fans) and you don't see me losing any love for my Packers. Sure I was mad - but that's not going to make me switch teams.

I also don't like people that I've started calling "Favre fans." < - - - perhaps if there are other Packers fans on here besides myself they might agree with me. These people wore the green and gold with the rest of us when Favre was on the Pack - then decided to become Jets fans last year, and now they're Vikings fans?!?! Really? After proudly being on the Packers for 16 seasons - Favre moves on and then people decide to "jump ship." Now this doesn't mean that I hate/dislike Favre - he's still a good QB. I still have a bunch of respect for him and the great 16 seasons - I grew up watching Favre, but now he's on the Vikings - one of our division rivals - and that hurts, so of course you guys know how I feel I'm sure. Anyway, all of those people becoming Vikings fans just means that there are more true fans around than there were before. All I have to say is: I was born a Packers fan and I'll die a Packers fan! GO PACK GO! heart

Yep, that's me. But hey, he did begin his NFL career with my home/favorite team, so I'm good xd

Ah I must clarify what I was talking about earlier sweatdrop ....I don't hate "Favre fans" - plus hate is a strong word - I said I don't like them. I also think that I didn't clearly define what I meant by "Favre fans." Anyway, I call them "Favre fans" because they simply switch teams based on what team Favre is playing for. They once claimed to be Packers fans - and of course since they're currently wearing Vikings jerseys they're not - and probably never have been "true Packers fans." The actual team doesn't really matter to them - they'll wear whatever team's jersey Favre is wearing - and support that team - leaving their "old team" behind without a care in the world.

For those of you who still love Favre and like seeing him do well (trust me a part of me likes to see him do well also - despite the fact that he's on the Vikings - yep it hurts my heart, but that's what happened and so life goes on) that's great. But I don't think that any of you have decided to switch teams just because Favre moved to a new team (I mean you guys are posting that you don't like team hoppers in this thread so I'm assuming this is true).

You can like Favre as long and as much as you want - I didn't mean to say that it's bad that he is one of your favorite players. I still like Favre to a certain extent but you didn't and will never see me wearing a number 4 Favre Jets jersey or a number 4 Favre Vikings jersey (I mean a real "PACKER FAN" wearing a Vikings jersey? Really? To me that's the sign of someone being a "Favre fan" that's just my terminology for it by the way. I really should call it something else but haven't thought of the proper term for it yet. Anyway these people weren't really very loyal to the Packers despite the fact that they wore Favre's jersey while he was on the Pack and all - they jumped ship and switched teams as soon as Favre did - and to me that's not really the sign of a "true loyal fan." I even had one person argue with me once not too long ago that they were a loyal Packer fan - and now they're a loyal Vikings fan since Favre's on the Vikings...I did a *facepalm*).

Here's another example to help clarify...I know some people who are "T.O fans" that I don't like (this is a bad example but it's the exact same thing), what do I mean by that? Let's say that someone was - key word being was - a 49ers fan and when T.O got drafted they started to like him (ugh painful memory of that one wild card playoff game the Packers had against the 49ers resurfaced, ugh). When T.O was traded to the Eagles suddenly those people who used to be 49ers "fans" decide that they want to be Eagles "fans" instead because T.O was on the Eagles. Then he gets traded to the Cowboys and all of those former Eagles - and before that - former 49ers fans become Cowboys "fans." And now those same people, who keep in mind were originally 49ers "fans" are currently Bills "fans." Why? Because T.O is now on the Bills - that's the kind of stuff I'm talking about it...to me it's like another form of team hopping/should be considered team hopping.

I mean some of my favorite veteran players that used to be on the Packers got traded. Here's one amazing example I LOVE Darren Sharper! He's a great player and I follow some of his games when I can. However, when he unfortunately got traded to the Vikings I did NOT start wearing Darren Sharper Vikings jerseys - I mean that'd be pretty horrible (again Packers fan wearing Vikings jersey = not good). And now that he's on the Saints I don't wear a Sharper Saints jersey either. I still think that he's an AMAZING player - but if I'm going to wear ANY jersey of his then it's going to be his number 42 from when he was on the Packers. It's similar to when I see these Raider fans wearing Charles Woodson's jersey from when he was on the Raiders. I think that Charles Woodson is AWESOME - great player, wonderful CB just all around amazing. I'm SOOO happy to have him on the Packers - and I'm very happy to see those Raiders fans saluting their former player whom they love - but the noticeable difference is that they're wearing his Raiders jersey - not a Packers 21 Charles Woodson jersey - a Raiders 21 Charles Woodson jersey. And for people who do that and all, that's awesome and cool. *Salute*

Oh and if you own a Favre jersey from when he was on the Pack and you're not a Packers fan (never have been and never will) - I guess that's fine - as long as you're not trying to parade around with Packers fans (probably not the best idea right now with a Favre jersey either - especially if you're in Wisconsin) < - - - that's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. Here's a new example if I owned a Peyton Manning jersey - I wouldn't be among the mass of Colts fans rooting for the team, trying to belong/fit in and everything. I'd just say "he's a cool player, great QB - so I have his jersey, no offense." I mean usually when you wear jerseys of a certain player in public - people usually think that you're a fan of that player - and most of the time that team - you know? Best example of this is what I was saying earlier - Raiders fans wearing a Woodson Raiders jersey. I know that they love Woodson - but they also love their Raiders enough not to go and buy a Woodson Packers jersey.

I also mentioned in my first post that I do think Favre is a good QB, yep I still do despite the painful "breakup" so to speak. I mean geez Rodgers studied under him as well! Favre is still an amazing QB - and the way that he performs for his age is outstanding! 0_0.

So that being said I apologize to anyone who took offense when I was talking about what I mean when I say "Favre fans." I should've explained it better the first time but I was tired at the time. There is a HUGE difference between having a favorite player and following them vs changing teams just because said favorite player leaves the team that you were rooting for before. I'm also sorry if I've offended any of you who actually do fall into the designated category that I have deemed "Favre fans" or "insert awesome NFL player's name here fans" - I'm just saying how I feel about it, don't let me get you down.

Sorry for the lengthy post! biggrin

Lol, yea. This kid in one of my classes found out I was a Pats fan a few Weeks before the Colts game. Then, he suddenly loved football, and was making fun of me for the Pats Superbowl loss, then saying he Liked the Colts, talking about "The Manning Bros", and then suddenly Tuesday he liked the Saints. But most people in this Area are Bengals Fans (Live near Cincy), and I get alot of crap for being a Pats fan.

Anyway, anyone else notice there was a sudden overflow of Pats fans when they went 16-0, then Gaints fans when they beat the Pats, then Steelers when they won the Superbowl, and now all those have disappeared and now theres tons of Colts and Saints fans, along with Vikings. Used to see no Vikings fans.
Edit::And also, I've been rooting for the Browns to do something, but every season is a Fail for them.

Yeah i've noticed...

Yeah it sucked that it wasn't for the Chargers but I was content nonethe less with him being outta retirement.
