"Well what was I supposed to do?" Laura asked, not meeting his eye.

He guessed her behavior was partially from guilt. She just sat there, her head tilted towards her lap, red hair cascading down in ringlets to hide her once bright blue eyes as she plays with the bracelet around her wrist nervously.

Laura's always hated talking about her faults and feelings. He knew this, but it still had to be done for her sake as well as her mother's. Besides, wasn't this part of what they paid him for? He watches her silently, noticing how her fingers avoid coming into contact with the scars etched into her skin as they turn and feel the charms adorning her bracelet.

Sighing he pinches the bridge of his nose. The headache from earlier coming back.
'Too many nights staring at paperwork and worrying.' He thought putting away his spectacle eye piece.

"You could have came to me or even your mother, Laura. You didn't have to deal with this on your own. You almost gave your mother a heart-attack." He said in a fatherly tone, surprising himself and Laura. She looked up at his face before her eyes looked to the side. He clears his throat trying to pass it off as nothing.
After a silent pause she softly replied with a, "Yeah. . ." and left it at that. Shaking his head and wishing for something stronger than an Advil he sighs again. His hair brushing along his left cheek as be finishes writing notes on his tablet.

Laura looks up from behind her bangs, trying to decipher the upside down symbols. Giving up her eyes then focus on his mouth as his lips part giving her a glimpse of fangs before he speaks. "We'll discuss this in greater detail later. But for now. . ." he looks back up at her, his lone eye watching her every move as she looks him in the eye finally. "What are your plans?"
