I've not had that happen to me... as I married my high school sweetheart. But I can empathize with you. As part of my analysis OCDs I try to contemplate various scenarios and try to determine what I would/should do. Course then the laziness mentalness hits me and I usually only get so far at it... it's really complicated when it comes to matters of the heart as they tend to override all other matters (especially logic).
Time softens all hurts... and heals some, though not all of them.
I hope you able to work through it and get yourself beyond it, and then find your destined mate (and YES I do believe everyone has someone for them somewhere in the universe).
