You know how on the internet they have all those cool mods to computers and such, and the put wood and brass and that sort of thing on it. How do they get it to stick. I couldn't imagine they'd just slap it on with glue. I want to mod something but I kind of wanted to start small, with an old watch or something.

Oho, you wish to mod?! That's great. A watch is easy to start with. I'll do a bit of research and send you the results later via PM

It depends entirely on the piece. If the panels you've made are too delicate, it'd have to be glued, unless there's a metal rim holding it in.
A computer case is easy though, it's just a box.

Thanks for the responses. Most of the mods I see are for goggles(I wear glasses) or something that involves complex skills like soldering. I think I'll start with my old wrist watch.

w00t, I finished. It was kind of simple. I took out the face and the battery and flipped the rest of it over so you can see it from the top of the watch. Pictures will be taken at some point. (Now I just have to find a use for the clock face.)

You can use the clock face as part of jewelry. I've seen a lot of pendants now that are three or four things hanging from the end of a necklace. Or you could attach it to a hairclip (bobby pins work well) or safety pin and attach it to a jacket as a type of medal.
Silly as it may sound, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
