"It's the way that we dance, the reason we dream - "

Rune sang happily along with the radio, rinsing the last of the breakfast dishes and settling them in the dishwasher. It was a bright and sunny morning, almost afternoon, and with her children having a happy day with their cousins, she was mostly by herself. So when Flint had made hints about taking a trip today, she'd insisted that he bring her along.

Unnoticed by his 'charge,' Flint stood just outside the kitchen doorway, arms folded and a slight smile on his face as he watched Rune finish her chores. He hadn't meant for her to come along on this trip to Albion - hell, he hadn't intended for her to hear about it 'til he was done. Still, she would be helpful, and if Kaze was coming, the young women could keep each other company while the men did what they had to do.

Miiiiaaaaaooooo

A piteous yowling came from the front door, too sugary and sweet to ignore. Outside the door was a little CoCo Plushie sitting on his haunches. His button-eyes were wide and sparkly, like an uke from a bad yaoi manga. His ears were drooping, giving him a perfectly innocent aura.

Miiiiaaaaooooo~

Turning off the faucet, Rune listened and blinked, turning toward the door. By then, Flint had melted back away from the doorway and headed for the front, pulling it open and raising an eyebrow as he looked down at the Coco kitty plush. "Wow. That's a nice innocent act." His grin was wicked. "You didn't bring Kaze with you?"

"I don't care what you say your body is really freakin' heavy!" Up the road came Kaze, dragging the body that Flint had seen Jack in before on her back.

"Heavy..." she moaned as she practically flopped beside the Coco, whose ears flicked back.

"No, she was just lagging behind a bit, that's all," he said with a purr.

"I don't get why you couldn't have just changed back at the house," muttered Kaze as she looked at the cat preen.

"I wanted to see if Flint would feed me first," he replied sharply.

"Okay, out of that body--- now. It likes food WAY too much!"

"Don't be so haaassstyyy," it mewled.

"Do you want out of those Gates or not?"

After a quick blue light, Kaze's former haul stood up and brushed himself off.

Flint snorted with laughter, eyes wicked with amusement. "If you're hungry, we can snag something from the kitchen. Rune's got some nice stuff in the fridge."

"And I told you to keep your paws off my brownies and the veal. That's dinner tonight." Rune poked him in the ribs from behind, trying to move him. The Mythos rolled his eyes, stepping aside with a graceful motion. Ignoring him, Rune grinned at Kaze and Jack cheerfully. "Hey Kaze - so, do you know what this amazing trip is supposed to be about?"

"Well, yes, yes I do," smiled Kaze, "We need to find a loophole and break through the Bronze Gates so we can get Jack's soul out once and for all. .... It's also time for me to say goodbye to Albion... for good."

"How much time do you think has passed since we last went? I'd love to return and not have to see that old Guildmaster."

"I don't know, Jack..."

Rune's eyebrows lifted nearly to her hairline, and her face wore a look of such complete astonishment it would almost have been comical. "We're - going - WHERE?!" She spun sideways to gape-glare at Flint, who looked slightly sheepish. "Surprise?" He offered. "Unless we want to do it through Archaion - they have an opening to the Bronze Gates there, too, and we wouldn't get in trouble doing it."

"That's true, the Guildmaster there owes both of us a favor - wait just a minute. Don't you distract me." Rune poked the Mythos' muscled arm, looking in surprise at Jack and Kaze. "How long has he been planning this?"

"No, through Albion," Jack stated with a hiss, "I want to give them one last... grand appearance."

"Jack," said Kaze, "I don't want to risk another Bloody Harvest."

".... What's this Archaion place?" muttered Jack.

Kaze turned to Rune and blinked, "We've been planning this endeavour for a few weeks... Bronze Gate in general..."

"I've been trapped in there for a few millenia, even more if you count the time jump from Albion to here."

"Eh, time jumps don't necessarily equate with the :gates:." Rune shook her head, smiling slowly. "Archaion is - a place similar to Albion, actually. It has a Guild of Heros, Guildmaster, that sort of thing. We've got friends there."

In Jack's head, a soft voice echoed, amused but almost chiding. ~You said if you got your soul back, you wouldn't attack Albion anymore.~ Flint reminded the former Hero. Aloud, though, he just commented, "Getting to the Bronze Gates in Albion ought to be interesting."

"I know, I guess I just wanted to... see it one last time," Kaze fidgeted a bit, her fingers entwining in the pink fabric of her dress, "But if it'd be easier..."

Jack cast a sharp glare at Flint before slowly nodding, "Age doesn't matter to me anymore... is the body done?"

Rune patted Kaze's shoulder cheerfully. "Then we go through Albion. And if people don't like it, they can kiss off." If it would make her friends happily, Rune would do it without hesitation.

"Finished and waiting with my sister. She'll be pulling your soul - I'm just the anchor." Flint grinned, completely ignoring the glare. Jack was - not necessarily a good guy, but very likely an honorable one, deep down. Besides, Flint liked him. "The info was good, so it didn't take as long as we thought. 'bout twenty-five ish. You two ready?"

(*giggle* Possibly stupid question, but where is the Bronze Gate?)

((The Northern Wastes, one of the places you visit in Fable: The Lost Chapters))

"Then let's not waste time," said Kaze, "I wonder if anyone remembers me."

Jack chuckled, "Excellent, I am ready. Let's hurry, I've waited too long and I'm afraid I've gotten impatient."

(Ahhh, okay. So someplace Rune and Flint wouldn't have been.)

"Works for me." Rune gave Flint an elbow and grinned, trotting to the center of the lawn. "If he's the anchor, I'll make the :gate:. Easier that way."

Closing her eyes, she held one hand palm-up, fingers slightly cupped as though holding something. Blue energy gathered swiftly, hovering for a few seconds in a sphere-like shape before flaring out in front of her. It wavered, then turned into a solid, door-like shape, moving waves of energy curling up the sides. "There we go!"
