That's right. I'm now a bellringer for The Salvation Army, and I might be starting this Friday. I'll be making $8 an hr and should be working 40-48 hrs a week Mon-Sat. It only lasts until Dec 24th, but hey it's something biggrin
There are 32 spots for the holiday season, but only 3-5 are available for us now until the day after Thanksgiving. They know I'm willing to drive anywhere for this, and they know I want as many hrs as they can give me. They loved my references as well as they had me go to the first orientation meeting (which was today) and that my flaging job has me stand anywhere from 2-14 hrs, so they love how I can stand the weather and can stand long periods of time.
My boss, Drew, is so cute! He's kinda short and tubby with this super cute face! You just want to glomp him whee He even said he doesn't care that we have our cell phones with us or that we have IPods! He's really easy going, and says that we should have fun with this job.
All donations go back to our community, and last year we used the donations to help over 3,000 kids in my town have toys for Christmas. If that's not awesome I don't know what is, right?!
I am going to love this! 4laugh

I got to the Salvation Army Church Corp. Been going since I was 13. And I always wanted to do bell ringing. But something always came up, like the year I was pregnant with Jena. But it is alot of fun if you make it fun! One woman who use to work at our corp (she got transferred) use to play her trumpet outside of the mall. ^_^

Sweet kira! I had no idea that you were involved with the Corp biggrin From what I understand, a lot has changed since we were kids.
We're actually allowed to sit down now, but not in a lounge chair. It has to be a stool (the tall ones). Found out that 20 yrs ago you couldn't even sit down at all, or play anything. If you did, they would dismiss you right there. They've become pretty laided back with it now.
I would love to see someone play an instrument! I might sing holiday songs ^.^

Whoa! That's really cool. I love the Salvation Army. They're the only charity I give cash to on the street.
