Layton -  Name: Layton Wallis Ainesworth Gender: Male Age: Baby (0-2 years old) Likes: Sleeping, hiding, playing games, sweet food. Dislikes: Being woken, most strangers, people who cheat at his games, sour food. Personality: Layton is a very quiet boy, but when he gains someone's trust, he is very sociable. He loves to play games and pull pranks on people. He often hides in the shadows and jumps out at unsuspecting passersby. He can be very mischievous, but he just really loves fun things and likes to play. Ability: Shadow Master - Layton can control shadows. He loves to hide in them and jump at people. “…Okay, if someone could tell me exactly why I have been chosen to take care of a child – a baby, no less – that’d be great, because I’d like to give the ones who made me do this a nice a**-kicking! Do they seriously expect me to just take on this task with no questions asked? Hah! Bull-s**t. I have no need of any child. Ever. I don’t even like children; how can they expect me to just accept this kid with open arms?
He’s sleeping next to me right now, in fact. He’s a tiny little fellow, and he seems really tired. Pssh, he does not know what tired is. Not until he’s seen my line of work. …Looking at him now, I do have to admit that he’s a little bit adorable, but that doesn’t matter. I just can’t take care of a kid! It’s absolutely out of the question. What would I do if he got hurt somehow, or, God-forbid, he got infected in some way. That’d be just what I need: an infected vampire-baby for me to take care of. Ugh.
I can’t exactly abandon him, though, and that’s the dilemma I’m facing right now. He could starve if I don’t take care of him, and it’d be way too awkward for me to just dump him at an adoption center. How would I ever explain that to those weirdoes who gave this kid to me? Arrgghhh… How frustrating.
…Oh geez, he’s waking up. I swear to God, if he starts crying…
Okay, thank goodness, he went back to sleep. He’s all curled up on my lap, which is making it really, really difficult to write. I don’t want to move him, though…
…Y’know, now that I’m thinking about it, maybe I should take care of this kid. He seems pleasant enough, and well, who knows? Maybe it was serendipity that brought this little guy to me. Ah, yes, and I’ve already thought of a name for him: Layton. Layton Wallis Ainesworth.
Okay, it’s decided. I’ll keep him for a little while longer; like a trial period. We’ll see how this works out. Hopefully, it won’t be too much of a pain in the a**.”
