Casia was staying after school today to get some work done.

Absolutely, emphatically, to get work done. To study, to get a good grade on her next social studies test, and not at all to catch up with Keres and waste all her time getting distracted.

No matter how many times she said it, she still wasn't convinced. Casia had been brought up to be, if not honest, then at least self-aware, and right now she was very aware of a fervent desire to get back in touch with one of her few female friends. And she knew that that was why she had invited Keres to meet her in the library for a study session, but if she pretended it was actually to study, that went a way to assuaging her guilty conscience. She might get some work done, after all! There was no need for the whole deal to be a sham, right? Right.

With that, she set herself down in one of the library chairs and waited, bookbag slung haphazardly over one shoulder. All that was left to do was wait.

And Casia didn't have to wait for long. There was no way that Keres saw this "study session" as being legitimate, despite its location, and so she was there rather promptly and all too excited to be in a library.

When it came to school, Keres couldn't give a rat's a**. She didn't really see the point in going, or doing well -- she could write, she could read, she could do math well enough to make sure that she wasn't being jipped when buying something at some percent-off, or that Anya way paying her her proper allowance, so why be bothered with school?! She wasn't going to be a doctor or lawyer anyways. ...

Though... she did like the idea of getting into someone's business and yelling "OBJECTION!" That put a smirk on her face as she continued to ponder the idea and meander through the library in search of Casia --OH HAY, there she was.

Abandoning her latest thoughts on her nonexistent future, Keres trotted over, dumped her bag on the ground, pushed a chair out of her way, and smacked her palms on the table directly across from the Siren. "Oooohhmy gooooooooooood, I just saw the UGLIEST outfit while coming over here. Seriously, it was hideous -- polka dots and PLAID I KID YOU NOT."

Oh yes, it was always proper to go straight into the study subject while attending these things.

Casia was fashion conscious, even though her fashion sense came directly from Carnaby Street, circa 1964. Despite her retroactive clothing choices, there was no decade in which polka dots and plaid worked well together.**

"Oh my GOD." Casia mimicked, trying to imagine it. "Did you say something? You didn't. Did you?" Keres was her outlet. Most of her friends were male or far younger than her, a trend that was even beginning to alarm Jane. However, Keres was one of the few female friends her age that she had, and it helped that they had so much in common. Keres got what it was like to be a musical greek myth in a modern world. She knew how hard it was to find shirts that matched one's wings, or even fit one's wings. When one was born like they were, altering clothing became a necessary life skill.

And when you got right down to it, boys didn't care about clothing. Or fitting things to wings. Or boys, for that matter. A girl needed someone to just gossip to, and she had missed Keres.

"Oh my God, Keres, I have been dying to talk to you." she admitted.

The only problem was figuring out where to begin.

**Yet.
