The purple Jala spread his wings, stretching them out as far as they would go, and then folded them back at his side. He had been flying for a while and was in need of a short break. With no sight of his father and no word from anyone else, Udi had become discouraged. The usually chirpy and playful stallion now stood with his head hanging. He grew weary of his search and hoped that someone at home had had any sign of his father. It puzzled him how one Jala could simply vanish with an entire herd out looking for him.

Well, perhaps for just a few moments he could pretend things were okay. Maybe he could just relax for a few moments and forget about his worrisome quest. He would at least try.

Playfully the purple Jalla lay down on the lush green grass and, after making sure he didn't see anyone, he began to roll energetically. As he rolled he kicked his legs out and enjoyed the freedom of just being able to goof around.

The purple Jala stallion with his golden tail, was having such a merry time that he hadn't even noticed or heard the approach of the Ichsa stallion. Abruptly Udi stopped rolling and looked up at the Ichsa while he sill lay with his back to the grown. "Not particularly." Udi replied humorously. The Jala took one more quick roll and then stood up to face the new comer.

The Ichsa who stood before him, appeared quite handsome to Udi. His coat was an exotic blend of colors that the stallion had never seen before. He also appeared to have feathers upon his head for his mane and, he checked just to be sure, he even had them for a tail!

"Well isn't this a nice surprise!" The Jala exclaimed. "I'm Udi. What's your name handsome?"

It had been quite a while since Udi had had any handsome male companionship. He doubted that the Ichsa would have any interest in him but figured he might as well have a little fun anyway. To be honest he enjoyed the shock factor of being gay occasionally. Some of the responses he would get could be relatively funny and interesting. Then again there were those that despised and detested him for what he was. The purple Jala had even been attacked a few times because of it.

To be rather honest Udi was quite shocked by the response that he had received from the exotic Ichsa stallion. Was Sunil gay too? Apparently. Most others would have at least acted shocked or uncomfortable with his response. Oh! Maybe he would be into Udi? He still wasn't sure what the stallion would be like personality wise, but it was always nice to know that someone desired you. Actually it was a very nice feeling.

"Well why shouldn't I be friendly? Not with cuties like you running around here." The stallion grinned as he gave the compliment. Hopefully a smiling face would help improve his chances. He also puffed up a little and tried to show off the little bit of muscle that he did have.

Hmm, Well then. Was the stallion playing with Udi? Or did he really not understand what he was saying. He must just be playing hard to get, the purple stallion decided. After all, Sunil was very handsome and he probably had a good pick of the ladies and men. Now it looked like Udi was going to have to earn a response from him. It had been a while since he had flirted, but he felt was up to the challenge.

"I must have to agree with your mother, she sounds quite wise. Did she teach her attractive son as much as she knows?" Alright well it was lame.

The Jala sighed inwardly at his lack of vocabulary. He had never been very good at putting together long pretty sentences. And most of the time it didn't bother him, but then, at times like this it did. Would Sunil fault him for that? He didn't want to ruin his chances with the Ichsa stallion simply because he wasn't very good with words.

Udi twitched his golden tail a few times in nervousness. Oh that was just great, now he was all flustered. Drek. Udi wished he could impress the stallion, but he now all he was doing, was looking embarrassed.

Udi was immediately saddened by the exotic Ichsa's response. Was that it then? He didn't really have any interest in the oddly colored Jala stallion? He was just about to give up hope when he noticed Sunil shifted his wings. Oh! Well perhaps he had been wrong then. With the few other gay stallions that Udi had encountered, the wing shifting had been something of a flirt. Perhaps all hope wasn't lost then. Maybe the stallion was just shier than he had first thought?

With his hopes lifted a bit more, Udi stopped fidgeting so much. He also shifted his wings a little too so as to flirt back. He even contemplated batting his lashes a little but figured that would be quite a bit too mare like. Not fitting for a stallion, even as feminine as he could be sometimes.

"Awww, no need to be so shy." Udi told the other stallion. He would have said more but he felt that he shouldn't come on quite so strong. Perhaps that was what was making Sunil so shy. Yes, that must be it, he thought without taking the time to think that it could possibly be that the other stallion was perhaps not interested in him.

Well now, that was definitely more like it. Udi congratulated himself on bringing the stallion out a little more. And friendly? Well, that must surely just mean that perhaps the stallion was interested in him. What else would he mean? Yes, he probably just meant that he hadn't run into any other gay stallions in quite a while. As it was, the purple Jala himself hadn't seen anyone else in quite some time. Not since that interesting fellow in Quirne.

"It's alright, it can happen to the best of us." Udi responded to the stallion with a grin on his face. It did seem that his day was looking up. "What brings you around here? Surely a handsome thing such as yourself much have someone else waiting on him."

Best not to come on too strong, the Jala thought. He did want to know though if Sunil had another stallion. He rather hoped not, as he was starting to like the stallion a bit more. Perhaps some casual conversation would also help draw him out a little more.

As soon as the oddly colored Jala registered the Ichsa's response he was immediately saddened. Well, there went his chances. He wasn't even going to try to compete with this unknown stallion. It wouldn't be fair to any of them. Besides, he had only just met Sunil and really shouldn't have gotten his hopes up so quickly. He didn't even really know the stallion yet anyway.

Noticing how proud Sunil sounded of his mate Udi knew for sure he wouldn't have a chance. Well the least he could do would be to wish them well. He wasn't entirely sure he would be up for much more conversation though, not with the let down that he had just received.

"Ah, well I'm happy for the two of you. You and your mate I mean. Helios you said his name was? I guess I don't really have much of a chance then. I should probably let you get back to him. He must be getting worried." Udi held sadness in his voice. This was actually relatively rare for the stallion. Then again, with his father missing, and now this let down, it wasn't much of a surprise.

The purple Jala waited quietly and patiently for the Ichsa's response. He needed to be going back to his family anyway. Maybe someone there would have some good news, though with the day he was having so far, he rather doubted it.

Udi stood for a few moments in silence as he watched the Ichsa Stallion leave him. Well, he had hoped for a few moments that perhaps he could have found love with him. Alas he must keep looking, but at least he knew there were others out there like him and it gave him hope. Oh he had known a few, but he hadn't met anyone in a long while.

Perhaps if he made it back home someone would have news of his father. Hopefully it would be good. Yes, he would try to hope so. Carefully he stretched his wings again but not for flight. They were a little sore and he hadn't moved them much lately. Udi then pressed them back and made his way across the land on foot.
