Thoughts as I listen:
Seems closer to some psych-folk rather than any ambient. There's not really enough going on or different textures to keep me interested and it kind of feels more like a segue track on a metal album or an intro in a Bardo Pond track. Repetition is good in this sort of thing, but there's no hallucinatory rhythmic push/pull to keep focus or any repeating events to build tension.
The original form of ambient was meant to be forgotten and ignored (see: Furniture Music), but it's evolved to a point closer to minimalism where incremental changes are very important. I would say listen to
Svarte Greiner - The Boat Was My Friend for a masterclass in earthy ambient. Get some field recordings going, vinyl hiss and leaves, etc. Maybe add some slowly mutating electronic strings and a bass or sub-bass pulse.
