An urban legend that's been changed over time and in different parts of the US.
Here's what I know:
Go into a room with a mirror and turn off the lights. Look into the mirror and say
"Bloody Mary" five times. A white figure will appear on the mirror and dance around and then suddenly she appears and tries to attack you. Quickly turn on the lights to make her leave. usually you'll end up with a scratch somewhere.
Any other versions?

When I was younger people said a bloody woman would appear or a woman in a bloody wedding dress.
One of my friends said if you stood in front of a mirror holding a pillow or something wrapped in a blanket that she would try to take it as if it were her child. You had to chant "bloody Mary I have your child" or something.
Another told me that you turn off the lights, light a candle and while looking in a mirror if you chant bloody Mary you will either start to see the face of a devil, your face contort into an evil grin even if you don't physically move, or that her face will appear.
I can't remember if I've heard any other versions or variations.

there's so many different versions of bloody mary. a local one was saying her name 10 times and you'd see her appear in the mirror (lights off of course!) and you had to do this around midnight or so. I seem to remember someone debunking it by saying your eyes had just adjusted to the light and you only saw yourself.
radio that's funny I've heard the same thing about the child. except you would find a scar/scratch/cut somewhere on your body the next morning.

OOh yeah, Bloody Mary's Baby. The one I heard about that was you turn out the lights act like your rocking a baby in your arms and say "Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, I have your baby" You're supposed to hear a baby cry. When you do, "drop" the child and stomp on it real quickly and turn on the lights to avoid being hurt.
xD Brutal and all that but soooo hilarious.

xD I hadn't heard Bloody Mary's baby.
I heard that you had to do it in a dark room with 10 - 20 lit candles in front of the mirror... I can't remember what'd happen to you, though. We stopped caring in grade 3.

Yeah, I've heard all kinds of versions. Pretty much everything everyone listed. Did it alone on a dare with friends... did it with a group of friends at a sleep over at midnight. And I did the candle one with another friend when I was sleeping over at her house. Nothing ever happened.. the most that did happen was a friend poking me or saying boo to try and spook me.

whee The joys of the urban legends we learn as children.
But I can remember first hearing about it and was always too afraid to even try it. xD

My dad actually did bloody Mary in a mirror, to prove to me and my step-brother it was fake. Nothing happened but he did have a run of bad luck afterward, my dad and I aren't know for our good luck though lol
