That would have ok, but Harry just isn't the Dark Lord type. Sauron should land on the Hogwarts train and kill everyone. LOLZ!

Your ideas on the Ending AND the 19 Years Later part. Personally, i wanted Harry to die. I know, i know, its awful but thats how i expected the book to end.

No, I wanted him to die to. Seemed a reasonable ending given the circumstances.

That nearly everyone who was essential to the plot got to live, settle down, have half a dozen kids, and live happily ever after was just...rather disappointing. It just seemed like such bullshit to me!

Ok yeah you killed side characters like Lupin, Tonks, and Dobby (the freaking house elf!?) but you have all the central characters like Ron, Ginny, Harry, Hermione, Neville, Luna, and Draco live and prosper? What the....?!

Definitely agree.

I thought the battle was okay, but too what was expected...too predictable. I wanted JKR to surprise me like she had before and unfortunately I guessed the ending almost down to the letter. The epilogue is just unfortunate. I don't even care about the pairings...I care that it read like bad written fanfiction...It wasn't an ending to me. It was a let's get this over with and please as many people as possible ending, which isn't my style..

Harry needed to die. That's the way I wanted it to end, and I think it would have been much more satisfying, personally. The ending with the 19 years later epilogue? Just... No. I don't really like the pairings in the end. And I don't think Harry should have lived to SEE 19 years later. The epilogue was just not good.

But do you want to know what I thought was REALLY obnoxious about the seventh book? My mom was watching the news the day it came out, and when they started talking about it she muted it because she figured they would spoil the ending. And they did. But, just for people like my mom, who muted it because they wanted to find out on their own, they also had the ending of the book flashing across the bottom of the screen so the people who didn't want to hear it saw it. My mom was really annoyed. Fortunately, I managed to avoid hearing the ending before I read it. I'm not sure how I managed it, though, since it was apparently all over the news.

Wtf?! Its a book, why would you post the ending on the freaking news. Not to mention, what a b***h movie to ruin it like that for everyone. Clearly some anti-fan was aiming to mess with you all...and succeeded!

The entire 7th book felt like a combination of several Harry Potter fanfictions to me.

Rowling forgot one of the most important rules of writing, never give the fans what they want, because they don't know what they want and neither do you. Hate you fans. Write for yourself. They will love you for it.

It's ok, I wanted Harry to die too.
Oh, the epilogue was terrible. Albus Severus? Seriously?
Not only that, but we devotedly followed Harry through seven huge books. And she gives us a little bitty epilogue. "Everyone lived to be middle aged and beyond. They also had kids."
She could have done so much more.

And wtf with Remus's death.
Harry just glanced over, saw that Remus was dead, and that was that.

Yeah! Why did he die anyway!? Is she trying to turn Teddy into a mini Harry?

Harry should be dead. And I hate him. Blame Mr. Radcliffe.

I don't hate the actors. I think they are doing well with what they are being handed in the movies (dear writers, i have a bone to pick with you). I don't hate Harry in the least. He's a good character. I wanted him to die because I thought that was the only way the books could actually end and everyone got their closure.

I took a Harry Potter Lit class this past semester....we talked about all of this...and RAGE JKR you make me mad...

I totally and completely agree. I was fully prepared for Harry to die, and was severely disappointed with how it all turned out. And the epilogue didn't seem to have any real sustenance. Like stated earlier, I would have been completely happy with Harry turnin around and becoming the next Dark Lord if he absolutely had to live. The whole ending just seemed so abrupt. You know what I mean?

Yeah. The whole series seemed like it was building up to a huge battle between Voldemort and Harry, but they only fired one spell each.
