Oh, smashing. As if he didn't feel like an endangered infiltrant in ******** enough already.
Picking her up and tossing her over his shoulder, not giving the slightest about her bum poking up, Rezznort miffedly made his way through the shocked crowd with long, agitated strides.
Houses she'd said, that way. Alright, that way then. Okay, there's houses here, goddamn, they're getting settled now, too? Oh, brilliant. Motherfiggin' brilliant.
"Anyone missin' a lass here?!" he called out roughly, looking like he was bringing back a bag of overripe lemons. Someone better answer, darnit.

Ellandra didn't have Faolan's acute hearing, but she was waiting anxiously on the porch for Rhian's return upon finding her missing from her room earlier in the evening, and she easily heard the call, albeit from an unfamiliar voice and in a tone that sent shivers of worry down her spine. Careening out into the yard in her bathrobe, brunette curls wild and untamed by any treatment and thus waving about her head like an enormous halo of frizzy ash brown, she looked around for the source of the voice she'd hear. "H-hello? Where's Rhian?!? Rhian, flutterby, answer me please, sweetheart!"
As said flutterby was unconscious at the moment, there was obviously no answer from the pigtailed pseudo-teenager, causing Ellandra's worry to hit new heights of fear. "Rhian!?? Flutterby?!?"

Faolan was in the nursery, rocking in the chair and just enjoying being close to his children when he picked up the panicked cries of his wife downstairs. His ears went straight up as he sat up. He heard her call again for Rhian and hopped up to his feet. Sam whimpered a bit in his crib, awakened by his mother's voice as well, but Faolan didn't notice, already out the nursery door and going downstairs. "Elle? Is she back? What's happened?"
Zia peered out of the kitchen where it had been getting a drink, both the glass and bottle of apple juice forgotten on the counter. It didn't even have to be touching things to know something was very wrong. Watching Faolan come down the stairs and head outside, the Essentic trailed after its owner, worried and curious.

Ellandra's second set of panicked cries, followed by Faolan's, managed to get a response from the out-of-it flutterby, and bleary blue eyes blinked open and a mumbled, "M'ma........F'lan........?" made it past her lips. Then, as awareness returned to her more fully, so did the pain, and Rhian burst out crying, wriggling, doing anything to get away from her captor-homebringer-whatEVER-this-person-was, he'd HURT he and she wanted to get away from him and to the people in the cottage, to Mama, to Faolan, to - to safety.
"Mmmmmmmmmmmamaaaaaa! Ffffff.................F'laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan! It was louder now, and definitely audible to the brunette who was looking desperately for the crier in the night, and now saw her flutterby-daughter draped ungracefully over the shoulders of a man who looked lesss than safe. Ellandra blanched and took two steps forward, then a step back, then faltered and looked desperately for Faolan.

Ah well, so he'd at least gotten a response of some sort. Sheesh.
Looking decidedly bothered to be where he was at the very moment, Rezznort waited for just a moment longer, then grumpily made his way over to what appeared to be the lass' family.
"Stop cryin' I could drop yi right here inna dust." he growled as he made his way towards the understandably upset elder woman, keeping his grip on the squirming Rhian. There we go.
"Sommin lost this?" he asked Ellandra gruffly, poiningt at Rhian's bum unashamedly and refusing to look at her with any expression other than a scowl. Stupid didikai. If he'd brought Annie, you'd have seen something more spectacular bursting out, oh yes.

Faolan edged his wife behind him, gently pushing her back into their home. He glared down at the dirty man before him, sneer starting to curl his lip. "Unhand me daughter. Now." His hands balled unconsciously into fists, prepared to beat this man to death to protect Rhian and the rest of his family.
Zia peered around from behind Fao, having heard its sister's voice and the voice of the stranger. Blinking its jewel-like eyes, it could only wonder what Rhian had gotten herself into and hoped she wasn't too hurt.

Ellandra understood Faolan's need to protect her - and their unborn child, and didn't mind waiting in the house - though she did hope that he got Rhian inside and safe yesterday she was so worried for her flutterby baby. ".... Rhian...." she murmured softly, hoping this all ended well and worried that it wouldn't. She chewed her lip a bit and hoped desperately for the (safe) return of her daughter.
Rhian heard Faolan's voice and her antennae instinctively tried to flick in his direction, which prompted more tears and a near scream of pain from the flutterby. It hurt, it hurt, it hurt hurt hurt hurthurthurthurthurthurt huuuuuuuuuuuuuuurt and she wanted Faolan to save her, she wanted ..... Faolan........ wanted.................... "Papaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

Getting majorly irked about the entire deal, Norty gave them all a dejected snort, and dropped Rhian right there and then. Like a sack of potatoes, crying, dirty, and a little worse for wear than she'd started the day as. That slap-mark would show for a while, heh.
"Y'cin have'r. Yi never taught th'lass not ti scrounge th'streets onner own like some marginal skank?" he snapped back at Fao, very much aware that the other was as prepared for trouble as he was himself. Come'n get it, pikey scum.

Fao stepped forward, glancing down to see that Rhian was okay, but not exactly taking his eyes off the strange man that'd brought her home. "We taught her, but I bet she'll listen a lot better now." He glared at the stranger. "You brought her home and not in the same condition you found her. I suggest you leave."
Zia wriggled past Elle, coming to kneel at its sister's side since Faolan couldn't see to her himself and it wasn't safe for Ellandra to come out. "Rhian?" It stroked her hair, tears welling up in its own eyes now that it knew the pain she was in.

"She coulda bin worse." the man shrugged, giving Fao a dirty look. "Y'cin never know what strange people sh'couldae ran into if no'fer mi." Show some gratitude, lowlife. He took a step back when Ziazan came hurrying to its sister's side.
"Strange kid-folk ye streetrats have. Yi been holdin'em inna basement or sommat? No sense. No shred o' sense."

Rhian barely registered Ziazan stroking her hair, or even that her sibling was, in fact, right next to her. All she was really aware of was that she hurt, and she was on the ground and that she didn't feel safe yet, couldn't feel safe, not until that man was gone and everything was finally, really over. The flutterby didn't say a word - she just sat there, on the ground, shivering, trembling any term you might give for utter and complete shudders of sheer terror.
Ellandra couldn't wait in the house any more. She didn't want Faolan getting into a fight right now, not when Rhian was back and that what was really important was getting her tended to. Stepping out of the house she walked up behind her husband, where she was still sheltered from the man that had harmed her daughter. "Faolan. Faolan, just let him go, we need to take care of Rhian, this doesn't feel right, please - something's wrong and we need to take care of her. We'll talk to Keagan in the morning or something, justplease, please, don't do this, not now...."

Faolan nodded at his wife's words, not taking his eyes of the man. "Look, you've said you bit. Now just go. You're not welcome here and if you stay any longer, you won't be leaving at all. So get while you can."
Zia hugged its sister, looking up at the man. It was scared of him because of what he'd done to Rhian, but not so scared that it wouldn't attack if it had to. It wished it was bigger to at least hep its sister into the house.

"At least yi've gitcher priorities straight." Fine then. I wasn't planning on staying much longer anyway. The man finally made to leave, but not before he'd gotten in a last threat.
"If I ever find one of yir overgrown toddlers out in th'downtown again, I migh' not be as nice as t'day. Keep yir madness ti yiself, y'hear me." While he wasn't shouting, or growling, or sounding very pissy in general as he said that, there was a rather dangerous edge in his voice.
And then, with a last withering look at Rhian, he strode away briskly. They better hope this is the last time they run into him.

As soon as the man had walked off, Ellandra was kneeling next to Rhian with Ziazan, trying to get the flutterby to look at her, to talk to her, to assure her that she was okay in any way, shape, or form. Her heart nearly skipiped a beat when she saw the lip, lightless antennae and the horrid bruise on her daughter's face. "Rhian? Flutterby, sweetheart, come on, we need to get back inside, baby. . ." There was no response from the flutterby other than blue eyes loicking on to her and overflowing with tears, and Ellandra looked to Faolan for desperate help.

Faolan waited till the man was far out of sight before taking his eyes off him. He said nothing as he scooped up Rhian gently, assessing her hurts as he did, and headed inside and upstairs to the nursery. It was really the most calming place in the house and they needed to check on the infants anyway. Walking into the room, Faolan sat down in the rocking chair, settling Rhian on his lap, and rocked her gently, making soothing noises as he stroked her hair, letting her know she was safe and home.
Zia followed Elle in, closing the door behind them, but didn't go upstairs. It took hold of the woman's hand, looking up at her. "I'm going to go tell Granda about the man so he can have security keep an eye out in case he comes back." It wanted to stay, but there wasn't much it could do for its sister and there was still a matter of their safety.
