Well, after class today I went home. I took the bus all the way to town and had to walk through town to get home. And I was wearing my headphones.

I was walking at ...a fairly quicck pace, considering the amount of people.

There were alot of, um, people handing out stuff, like advertisment etc. And charity stuff.

This lady was, I'm pretty sure from a charity, and for donation you get some flowers.

So I was walking by, and she like suddenly stopped me. And pretty much almost like shoved the flowers to me. I shook my head, but she was still like, "here, have some". I was looking at her like, "what?". She let go of the flowers so I end up catching it in my hand. Then she was just smiling. So my thought at the time was like, "Is she.. giving out these flowers?" . But then she was like, "Money for charity". Then it was just like:
Me: "I dont have any moeny on me" (Which I do, but like just a few pennies, since I didnt take any cash out for this week yet)
Lady: "Any amount will do"
Me: I DONT have any money"
Lady: Oh. ok. thankyou

Gave her back the flowers.

I mean, like she just suddenly stopped me. Usually people stand at least a step in front not just suddenly shove flowers at you right away. And Im pretty sure I have made it clear that I didn't want any.

Also, there were quite a few people in town today. But when I walked by, thre was space, and im pretty sure she saw me long enough that she didn't have to just attack me so suddenly.

-Ever had people so....persistant?/just suddenly come up to you out of nowhere?

Yeah that happened to me before.
It was with jehova witnesses.
I didn't want their pamphlets and then talking about donating to their fund within the next week.
Told them no, at least 6times and took their papers and threw them in the trash infront of them so they would get the point.
Plus I wasn't in the mood either lol.
I just don't get the fact that people don't understand no.

Oh my lordy... do I have a story for you. This one time I came out of the grocery store, and there was this HUGE guy right? And I could tell right away he was going to pull me aside and sell stuff to me. So I shouldered my bag and told my aunt to come along and right away he moved for me.

Him: Ma'am, can I have a-
Me: No. Sorry.
Him: Miss. I'm sure if you-
Me: No.
Him: *keeping up with me even though we're on our way to our car* Miss! You should stop and see how bla bla bla
Me: *stops in my tracks* LOOK. HOW MANY ******** LANGUAGES DO I HAVE TO SAY NO IN?! *aunt proceeds to drag me off before I beat him to death with my bag while saying "NO SORRY" in many different languages*

He walked us practically to our car trying to get me to stop and look at him. But I didn't. And on our way out (via car) we noticed he stopped a couple in the middle of the street who were on their way out of the store, and SURE ENOUGH he had his damn clipboard and was trying to get money out of them for something. We sat there in the car for like over a min before I honked the horn (THEY WERE HOLDING UP TRAFFIC). lol

= n = I'm not nice to persistent people. I like the ones that ask, then wish you a good day and leave you alone. I wish them luck too, but the persistent ones piss me off, and I don't give them anything. lol

Edit: OMG JUST AS I POSTED THIS I REMEMBERED ANOTHER ONE!

I was at school, and I just got out of class and I had to go to the hospital, cuz my grams was in surgery. SO I'm rushing across campus and you know those people who are on campus trying to get you to sign and join things.

Well this one guy walks up to me and asks for a minute of my time.
Me: I'm sorry, I have to get to the hospital.
Him: This will only take a few minutes.
Me: What do you not understand about HOSPITAL. Meaning EMERGENCY. SO. NO. I CAN'T take a few minutes. I NEED TO GET TO THE HOSPITAL.

At that, I turn and hurry off, even though a bunch of people had stopped and watched this. He went back to his booth and kept quiet until I couldn't see him anymore. lol

Most of the time I'm too nice to them people, but in the end I never buy anything. I just find it rude to at least not listen for just a moment. I'm not saying that if you're in a hurry to get to the ER, like in Jade-sans case, that it's rude to not listen cause you're running to the ER for a family emergency.

Some people I did TRY to ignore were the guys and gals outside of the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. There is a whole street FULL of people handing out different phone cards for phone sex and for booty bars and such. I had to literally DRAG Toboe away from them cause as soon as he stoped for one gal he got flooded with other people passing them out.

I finally got him away and asked him why the hell he even accepted one, and he told me one of his co-workers wanted him to collect a few of them. Boy, you should of seen the evil cold death glare I gave his co worker when we all went for drinks when we got back.

This was in January lol

Lol!

I tend to (or try to) avoid them. Like. Walk on the opposite side of the street, or let some other people go in front and then speed off around them . lol

i try to avoid eye contact ^^U it's a bit of a trying task because i have a bit of a wandering eye, and then i'll stare at one thing that catches the slightest bit of my interest and stay there without even realizing it >.< i also find listening to music wards people away. so if i see them from a distance, i quickly try to act like they're not there. i personally never-oh wait. there was that time just last week or so; my mom and i were just coming out of the grocery store (and it's like 8 at night, and it's dark because all the signs in the plaza are gone due to renovations), and we were heading to the car when a big guy carrying newspapers comes over asking for some change. we waved him off, but he continued pleading, saying he was hungry. i felt bad (and i'm absolutely sure my mom did too), but we didn't end up giving him anything ):

i can see where they're coming from though, because i've done similar things (but i'm not pushy or persistant because that's not my nature). the key is having what you want to say ready and be prepared to say it rapid fire XD catch their interest quick, and it's all about what you're trying to do and where you're trying to do it. i was volunteering for my mom's Rotary club, we were standing in front of Canadian Tire, and we were trying to get people to buy and donate high-efficiency florescent lightbulbs for people who can't afford them but could use the reduced electricity costs. they were on special that day for this particular reason, but it's hard getting people's attention and keeping it enough to get them to listen...
