Yup, I'm gonna have to clean someone's guns. Yup, gonna bite the bullet as some might say, this is going to be horrible!

One 1911 and one Colt Python.

When I was a kid, my dad made me do the gun cleaning (supervised by him while he did other gun related tasks). It was never a job. I always got a fair chance to shoot anything as long as I was willing to take care of the gun once it was done for the day.

An old saying goes something like this: When you own a gun, you have a full time job. It's not just about pulling it from a holster or case and shooting.

Cleaning a weapon is a sign of trust if you give it willingly to someone else. I was proud to know I could field strip and clean a firearm.

And as far as 'having' to clean those guns, I think I smell a sale sometime soon.

I have to clean the bore whenever I fire my friend's .22- I basically just yank the boresnake through, check the barrel, and yank it through again if anything's still inside. Another friend field-stripped it once to clean the bolt itself, but I haven't had a chance to do so yet.

If possible, though, I want to clean out the inside of those two revolvers I have. They honestly look like they've never been cleaned, there's so much residue inside.

He's been helping me with the Jeep.
