all was quiet in the warren and Blueflax was enjoying a bit of downtime to Silflay. his silvery pelt stood out amidst the clover bunches but he felt secure enough here not to care much. though he flicked his ears at singing birds in the birch at the top of the down and rose to his haunches at field mice scurrying through the grass. he was naturally alert just in case. as safe as the down was there was always risk of elil and for that he seemed to be restless even in his burrow. his somewhat abnormally protective nature drove him to fulfil his duty to warn of danger and protect the warren
today though this workaholic seemed rather settled, perhaps it was the weather? the gloomy skies often kept animals close to home for ffear of getting caught in a storm. but he sensed no rain yet and really didn't care if it did or not after he got bored with his clover patch he tottered closer to the warren where other rabbits where eating as well.

Gloomy weather didn't stop this speckled doe from doing her job. She had gathered plenty of food for herself and possible one more if that Outskirter was going to be around again, and now? Now she was busy cleaning and making room in her burrow for a possible family when she was ready to look. Though the purple eyed doe didn't know when that would be, she thought it would be better safe than sorry.
So, here she was covered in dirt and a little bit of mud as she pushed more dirt out of her burrow and piled it around the entrance, making it just big enough for an adult male slightly bigger than her. Once Lilly was working like this, the only thing that stopped her was thunder, talking, or her own hunger. Two of which might be happening soon. But she didn't see talking happening soon. When she cleaned like this, it was to push the horrible thoughts away from her mind. She didn't want to remember the pained groans of her family as they died of the illness that caused her to flee and seek shelter in this warren.
Luckily, though, everyone in this warren seemed very nice and accepting of her and her sister, Mist. They hadn't seen her brother, but she really didn't get her hopes up on seeing him again.

Blueflax nibbled at his new patch until he caught the smell of freshly upturned earth, curious he lolloped over a lump of thick grass and down to a burrow with much commotion inside. this was an odd time to be digging. he thought to himself but as he neared the burrows entrance he was promptly dusted with a fresh kick of dirt. "OI OI OI!" he called to alert the digger to his presence. "what ARE you doing?" he grumbled in a slightly annoyed tone. though it wasn't THAT he'd been covered in dirt it was that he had no idea WHY he was covered in dirt. what was this crazy rabbit thinking? digging in such wet weather. he shook his head and flopped his ears to rid himself of the debris.

Shouting caught Lilly's attention and caused her to blink, purple eyes going wide when she saw she had dusted another rabbit with wet earth. With a little shift and a small frown, she moved over to dust him off, muttering apologies and how careless she was being. "S-sorry... I didn't... mean too! Didn't know anyone would be out in this weather..." She whispered more to herself than to him.
Her ears were dropping as she hopped back away from him, bows knitted together. He looked like a mess. Bowing her head a bit, she looked around. How to clean him up better? Well, surly the rain would wash it off of him, right? Hopefully?

Blueflax pulled back from her fussing to his haunches and shook more dirt from his body. "alright alright." he said trying to assure her he wasn't angry. "be that as it may you didn't answer my question. so allow me to rephrase" he said rather plainly, like most Owsla he had a temper but unlike most he had a gentlemanly way about him and the ability to qualm said temper
" I'm always out rain or shine, it's my job, but what are you doing digging in this weather?" he asked as he began to preen himself. her big purple eyes had caught his attention and he gave a slight smirk, inwardly he had to admit he thought such exotic colors where cute.

Watched as his temper seemed to calm down a bit, but she still shifted back away from him, shaking her head softly. So he was out all the time? I hope he doesn't get sick... That's the type of rabbit she was, once more worrying about everyone but herself. Taking a breath, she started her explanation.
"I... arrived here not to long ago and have received permission to live in this warren. I ran from a great illness that killed most of my family. I believe my brother and sister are somewhere about here, but..." She let her voice trail off and she sighed. She hadn't found them yet. "I was... trying to finish my burrow before it started to rain."

" I see " Blueflax said simply but his prying curiosity showed as he studied the structure of the burrow. "I wouldn't worry too much though, the rain is still a ways off" he said as he looked over his shoulder at the clouds. he tossed her a slight smile and sat back down on all fours. "I'd offer to help but us bucks aren't much good for digging burrows" it sounded like an off handed way of saying he wouldn't help but really he was trying to give a complement.

She nodded a bit and looked to the sky once again and sighed softly. What the female really wanted was to maybe talk to him. But what subject? Lilly recognized the compliment and gave a bit of a little laugh. "Maybe not... but.... I could take a break? I'm kind of thirsty. ....Do... you know where I can... get something to drink?" She really did know where it was, but the female wanted him to stick around a little longer.

a gentle smile spilled onto the officers lapine face as he nodded, glad he had not insulted her "of course, it's not too far, if you'd like I can show you." he said kindly. something about this doe brought out his best mood. though he was tough as any officer in the Owsla he had a diffrent outlook on his duty. protect the warren and all who live in it. but unlike his tempermental brothers Blueflax had a more noble idea of 'protect'. it wasn't just doing as he was told. it was doing what he felt was right. not just defending peace and order and not just raiding farms and warnign of danger. somethign else kept him strong other then his strength or temper
he felt the best way to keep the warren strong as a whole was trust and the security of numbers and a tight community. it was wondered how on earth a rabbit with such a mindset ever made it to Owsla but the reason was simple. he did not broadcast his fantasy world nor did he attempt to explain it. it was just a back thought in his everyday tasks. he saw no reason to be mean in order to get his job done and he didn't see himself as all mighty for his rank supirior perhaps as an authoritative figure but the kind of curage we all wish we had.
the large buck gave a short yawn and shook his head, lopping his ears as he did so. sitting for that few minutes had relaxed him a bit more then he had intended, normally he would have pointed the right direction and gone back to his watch post on a grass mound away from everyone but he was enjoying the company of another rabbit for once.
