Every story that I write, I find myself constantly trying to find the most fitting title, but generally by the time I finish the tale, or have given up completely I find my folder filled with "untitled" files or at least very generic description file names to help recognize the thing. I wonder if anyone has any tricks to make title creation a little less mind-racking to say the least.

It's not the most creative I guess, but you could take a word or Phrase that appeals to you (or sounds really cool, it's up to you) and make that the title. If there are any other tricks, I sure don't know them. Hope this at least gives you ideas ^^''

Titles are hard, because it has to be short, as well as capture the read attention. One way it to play word-association with emotions that you want people to feel when they read. About half the time it works for me.

I had the same problem with one of my stories. It stayed untitled for many years. But one day, not that long ago, i was describing it for a friend and she came up with a name base on only what I had said.
My point is, Describe it to yourself or a friend and shoot ideas around. Keep trying, It took us 4 years to get a simple Title.

The points that you guys made were true. I guess it was harder for me last year to come up with titles. I wrote two stories this year and I had the title already up as soon as the idea popped into my head. I suppose it's just a matter of inspirational moments eh?
