He'd only been here a few hours and he already hated it. This place was stupid, the people in it were also stupid, and he felt like throwing up because the stupid, stupid teacher had dragged him outside to play in the sun with the other children.

He didn't quite understand why they called this place Kindergarden. It should have been called Hell, at least as far as he was aware.

When it'd become clear to the teacher that the sun was seriously not helping his mood, she'd allowed him to drag himself back inside the main building, where he stood at the door, looking out with a sour glare. Donovan felt like crawling into a bed and dieing there. Or perhaps under it. He wasn't entirely sure which sounded more appealing at the moment.

As it was, he decided to find the darkness place in the building and just sit till it was time to go home.

After trying a few doors, which lead to several empty classroms, he'd found the library, which was, in fact, darker than the other sections of the building, illuminated mainly by artificial light. Taking a quick glance inside to make sure no one else was in there, the young boy slipped in. Once he was sure he was alone, he let out a small tired sigh and slid down to a sitting on the floor, leaning his back against a book case. The movement cause a couple of books to fall on the ground on the other side of the shelf, but he barely paid it any attention. He opened a small bag he'd been carrying and slipped out a baby cup that contained suspiciously red liquid within, bringing it to his mouth to sip away.

Solitude he could do. Silence he could also do - they place was heaven.

She was glad for the chance to get away from the other students. She'd come to the library, not because she didn't like being around others per say, but because she preferred to spend her time reading. She was solitary by nature, or at least that's what her "papa" kept saying.

Still, when she heard the signs that she was no longer alone in the study room she wasn't bothered by it. At least they were being fairly quiet, except for the fact that they were knocking books around. Looking up from her own seat on the floor, cross legged on the other side of the shelf, her tail just ticked a bit. She didn't even seem to care that one of the books had nearly smacked her on the head. After marking the page of her own she picked up the fallen literature and turned from her seat. Through a gap in the books (That just so happened to be at eye level.) she could see the other person's head, and gazed back at him through large round wire rim glasses.

"You should be more careful, you know..." She said quietly. "You almost hit me on the head."

He had been pretty damn sure he was alone inside the library, so the girl's voice startled him severely, needless to say. He was so startled that he rocked back against the shelf in an attempt to jump to his feet; the motion only served to make some books fall again. This time on HIS side of the damned shelf.

Seeing as how it wasn't really his lucky to begin with, he wasn't particularly surprised when one of those books fell smack, right on top of his head, causing him to drop the baby cup he'd been holding in his mouth with a startled yelp. While the cup did crash on the floor and spilled several drops of it's content, it did not break, for which Donovan was eternally grateful. He didn't particularly feel like going over to the teacher and explaining that he really needed another cup of blood. Most grown ups freaked out at the mention of it, though he had no idea why.

Rubbing his head, he turned to aim a glare at the shelf (and whomever it was that happened to be behind it). However, seeing as how he'd jumped to his feet, Tahja remain hidden behind the books. Grumbling to himself, he slipped back into his sitting position and grabbed his cup with one hand, "Well, who the hell told you to be here anyhow? I thought I was alone," he took the change to glare at her through the gap the books produced.

She looked... a lot like Misae, actually. She was furry, with little ears and... honestly? She looked like a Mini-Misae. with stripes and glasses. His angered drained away for the most part at the thought; he really liked Misae, after all.

"It's the library,"

Her reply was haulted by the sound of one last book falling out of place to hit the floor harmlessly.

"--people can come here if they want."

Standing then, seeming to ignore his glare-- she saw them and heard worse on a daily basis with her father around after all. What a foul mouth he was, and thankfully she knew better than to repeat after him. --in favor of gathering the books on her side to put back on the shelf.

"I'm sorry for startling you." She did offer politely, peering around the shelf briefly, coming to his side to gather the books as well, moving right past him to pick up each one in turn-- ending with the one that had hit him on the head. With her keen sense of smell she was able to tell the contents of his cup, but being of a species of natural predators... she wasn't bothered by it terribly. "Did you not want to play with the other kids?"

Yeah, well, what did she know anyhow?

A mild grumble escaped him as he listened to the girl talk, one hand rubbing the top of his head gingerly while the other one gripped the handle of his sippy cup.

He was surprised yet again when the girl chose not to leave, but instead came around to pick up the books HE had caused to fall. For some odd reason it struck him as odd that the girl was picking up after him; he was always told that he had to pick up what he dropped to the floor at him, "You don't have to do that. I was going to pick them up," a pause followed, "Later," another pause followed as she chose to question why he wasn't outside with the other kids.

Had he had feline ears like hers, they would have been flattened back against his skull. As it was, the boy sank a little into himself, his brows furrowing in irritation - said irritation was amazingly enough, NOT directed at her, but rather, at his surroundings, as if she'd hit some sort of sore spot, "No," he grumped under his breath, "The sun makes me really sick. I can be outside, but I can't run around with them. It makes me really seasick. That's why I'm here. There's no sun here."

"It's alright, they wouldn't have fallen if I hadn't startled you."

The young feline girl paused, looking down and over at him in surprise when she found he didn't seem too happy to be thinking about his answer.

"Oh... I'm sorry."

Placing the last book in it's home Tahja turned, facing him, or at least facing his side, and studied him lightly.

"I'm Tahja Lawrence. What's your name?"
