Name: Jacob Windst
Height: 4'9
Weight: 70lbs
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Race: Human/Energy being fusion
Appearance: Extremely skinny for a twelve year old, Jacob does not fit in amongst his peers in any fashion. Two years of farm life has left the boy tanned, and while he certainly wasn't deprived in any way by his foster parents, the boy never gained an ounce of weight since arriving on their porch. Given two years of height gain since then, Jacob sports an almost anorexic thinness. This tiny frame hides an average strength though, the boy well used to life toiling on a farm. Thanks to being so skinny, his clothes rarely fit well, and are often tattered as well, with him working the family fields so much.
His eyes are another bizarre trait that attracts much unwanted attention. Born with bright blue eyes, his irises were bleached of all color after the fusion, leaving the boy with the current unnatural color. Aside from his pupils, and the faint border between iris and sclera, Jacob's eyes are totally white. His hair is much the same, though he started out a brunette, after the fusion the boy was left with multiple streaks of pure white in his short hair.
Personality: The quiet sort of kid who never argues or fights, Jacob has learned to accept the bizarre events in his life. Despite being picked at for his appearance, he refuses to strike back to defend himself.
He spent a great deal of time talking to Lethysis the last time it awoke, and so he understands there's something inside him, and has learned to accept it as part of him. He does not wish to be separated from Lethysis, and in fact considers the being a sort of guardian, or mother figure.
History: Born to a normal family, Jacob spent the first six years of his life as a normal kid. But, a chance encounter shortly after his sixth birthday altered the course of his life drastically.
Lethysis, a being of pure energy, had ventured to Gaia to find a hiding place to rest and recuperate from a fight with another of its race. Stumbling across the boy, the being decided that possessing a physical host would be the perfect way to regenerate from its battle.
The fusion itself nearly killed the boy, leaving physical marks on him, and sending him into a comatose state for several months. His parents took him to a hospital, afraid that their son would die from this. Unfortunately, another man recognized the symptoms, and faked the boy's death to sneak him away for his own experiments.
For the next four years, the man attempted to force Lethysis to awaken. At first, humane methods were used, but as the years dragged by without success, the man had less and less regard for Jacob. As a last resort, he attempted to kill the boy, to force Lethysis to awaken.
And unfortunately, he succeeded in awakening the being. Outraged at the treatment of its host, Lethysis killed the man, and tore apart the building they had been held in for those four years. Keeping its host unconscious and unaware of what was going on, Lethysis took control of the body, and walked several miles to a small farming town.
After watching several of the families for a few days, it finally moved its host to the home of one family, and relinquished control.
Sara and Carl Windst were utterly baffled by the appearance of a battered, exhausted ten year old on their doorstep, yet despite his unusual appearance, they took the boy in and cared for him. As Jacob recovered, it became apparent the boy remembered absolutely nothing of his past life. The couple decided to adopt the boy, despite his unusual appearance.
However, as the boy recovered and began learning from his foster parents the ways of farm life, it became apparent that the other children didn't much care for Jacob. Being an isolated town, outsiders weren't well liked, and Jacob's appearance only attracted more attention. But as the months wore on, Jacob learned to ignore those who disliked him. Even as the teasing escalated into fights, Lethysis slept on, and Jacob always refused to strike back at the tormentors.
Coming home one too many times with a blackened eye or bloodied lip convinced the Windsts to keep Jacob a little closer to home. Hoping to alleviate the boy's loneliness, they bought a dog for him. Naming the dog Duke, Jacob quickly grew deeply attached to the mutt, and was often seen wandering around the outskirts of the farm, with Duke following closely behind.
However, this too came to an end. The older boys from town spotted Jacob out with his dog one afternoon. The boys had been trying unsuccessfully to hunt, one having borrowed his father's rifle. Perhaps it was an accident, perhaps it was deliberate, but while attempting to scare Jacob, Duke was shot and killed.
Lethysis awoke again, roused by its host's anger and sorrow. And for the first time, Jacob was awake and mostly in control during the retaliation, made fully aware of the being inside of him. None of the boys survived the fit of rage, and Jacob disappeared for several days. When he reappeared at his foster parents' home, the entire town was out for his blood. After much discussion, they decided it would be best for Jacob to leave for Durem, to seek out answers to what he was, and where he came from.
Abilities: Although he doesn't truly have control of the abilities, being fused with Lethysis has granted the boy incredibly powerful telekinesis and pyrokinesis. His range seems to be limited to a 15 foot radius, though he's perfectly capable of hurling objects at targets beyond that range.
Unfortunately, he doesn't have much experience in using his abilities, since he's only used them once.
Lethysis is also telepathic, and though it's only used this ability to communicate with Jacob, it's entirely possible it could speak with other people.
