Vayth's Arrival
Guy hadn't read a book for the last few years. Not since he got out of college and school anyways. He didn't even want to read a book. So what the hell was this book doing on his dining room table?
"Daemonology."
It was a book given to him by one of his customers, as payment for one of his services. He had it appraised. It certainly was a rare book, worth the value of his task. It was a pretty thick book too. Like he would actually read it. He would put it away on his list of things to sell later. He flipped through the pages, admiring the pictures of the demons that seemed to be portrayed throughout the book. Interesting. As if this bullshit was to be taken seriously. He left it open at the page of an incubus and succubuses, whistling. Sex demons. Gosh, there was everything in here. He reached over to take a post-it note from the other end of the table, pain suddenly piercing his finger. He lifted is finger to see a thin papercut, several drops of blood dripping on the book page.
s**t, s**t, s**t. This book would lose it's monetary value if it had stains on it. He took a tissue, accidentally smearing the blood over the page over a tiny little ritual circle in the corner. s**t, it wasn't coming off.
...Doing some quick thinking, he remembered he had a friend who could clean books. Maybe this guy could clean this page off. He might as well go make the call. Cell phone.. cell phone.. where was the thing? Maybe it was in the next room.
Guy took a step over into the next room, spying his cell phone next to his clothes. As he bent down to grab it, a loud crash could be heard.
Whoosh-- Boom!
Another robber? s**t, he just had a robber in here last week. It hadn't been pretty to clean up after him. Guy took out a gun from his drawer, backed up against the door. He took a peek over to the next room, eyes slitted in preparation for an enemy. -----"Hands up!" He held the gun in front of him, aiming it at the intruder. Wait, wait whoa---! The intruder was.. somebody who looked vaguely familiar. Did Guy know this man? His attire wasn't so bad except for the horns. And the wings. His face wasn't one that Guy had met before. ---Wait, horns and wings? What?
The teenager sat there cluelessly, staring at Guy. "Where.. am I?" The low voice of confusion that came from the teenage was not what Guy expected. The book laid on the ground, seeming to be thrown there from the force. The gun was still aimed at the other, his guarded stance still there, a scowl spread over his irate expression.
"Heck. Dude, if you dont know where you came from, how do you think I know? I don't even know who you are. " Guy asked, eyes widening. Obviously he hadn't walked in to rob Guy. But.. was he just a great actor?
".. Vayth." The teenager reacted almost automatically. Vayth.. Wasn't that one of the names on one of those sex demon pages? It had been a pretty cool name, the one reason why Guy had noticed it. In fact.. this teenager even looked like that demon from those pages.. He almost laughed out loud. What was he thinking? But just in case.. he should check.
Guy ran towards the book, fingers flipping the pages cautiously. If it was what he suspected.. well, he didn't want anything else jumping out at him. His finger stopped at the page he was just at, in the beginning, staring dumbfoundedly at the page. Even his acceptance had limits. The picture missing from that page, the one that had been there clearly before, was blanked out now. In fact, that picture.. was in front of him. 3D.
.. s**t. Was this what he thought it was? Clearly, it couldnt be anything else. The page next to the succubus page.. was an incubus. So the missing picture.. was this an incubus in his house?
