The music notes?
Someone told me the drums in Zen Gardens. But I killed over 40 of them, and not one of the dropped a single not.
D:
Can anyone help me? Maybe I'm doing it wrong, or is there another animated monster or something that drops them?
Any help would be much appreciated.

The taiko drums in the Zen Gardens do drop the musical notes, but the drop rate is pretty low. I think that I had to killed nearly 100 drums before they dropped a single note for me.
It doesn't help a lot, but it is slightly easier if you have the Angel set (i.e., divinity, healing halo, wish, and hunter's bow). The set increases your luck which in turn increases the chance of a note being dropped.
Unfortunately, there really isn't much more that you can do besides keep at it and be patient. The notes will drop eventually (as long as the drums are blue or green challenge ratings)...

No problem, and good luck! I remember this being one of the most frustrating parts of the game for me (excluding the lag problems), since the drops are fairly random and based upon luck.

That is very generous of you to offer your music notes to others, Xalphidark. However, please keep in mind that loot received from others or bought in the marketplace usually won't count toward completing a quest.
For example, if you're collecting notes for the recomposing quest, the notes gained outside of actual gameplay probably won't count toward completing the quest.
Unless, of course, the developers have made a change to the system since I last tested this option... neutral
