Background Story:
Out of the four Courts there has always been a struggle for dominance, to take over Fae kind and hold all Sidhe in their grasp. This battle, this ever-turning struggle has always been aided by certain tools, certain powers that could be used and manipulated outside the abilities of the King or Queen. One of these powers, among many others, is nestled in with the humans as its source. A changeling of sorts, but not a changeling. Let me explain.
Humans are born humans, they live as humans, and although they may gain all the powers and life of a Fay, they will die as humans in the end. All save for one, one human born a human whom upon the death of their predecessor becomes something else, unhuman, Fae. One human inherits the magic and power from the death of the previous turned one and with that power become like a battery, a storage of great potential and nearly never-ending magic. Unfortunately, they themselves can not wield it. That's where the Courts come in.
A 'battery' of magic power, once attained, is at the complete disposal of whomever has it under their power. Any Fae can use the battery, any human can use the battery as a bartering device for their own means. Royalty can be usurped and Courts can be conquered with control of this 'battery', but there's always a catch.
The source's power can only be used by those that the source allows. Whether you shower them with gold, befriend them or torture them until they are a mere husk of themselves, a thoughtless drone, is up to you.
Such strong magic also does harsh things to a human body, life expectancy is about five years.
Magdelena was the previous source, owned by the Night Court and beaten until thoughtless and obedient. The Night Court's supremacy has now ended.
Participation:
All Kings and Queens are automatically participating. It is your job to seek out the source by whatever means necessary. Feel free to make or break allegiances as you please, after all, all's fair in war.
