I've been in a long distance relationship for about a year and a half (although we were together for about a year before that) and we get s**t from his parents ALL THE TIME. They're always saying discouraging things but you just have to ignore it. It doesn't mean anything. It only matters that you two are happy.

It's much better to have people say that to you then for it to happen.
Even though Alex and I have overcome a lot of odds, many people still say we're going to get divorced.
It's really annoying because most of the people that say that barely know either of us, and haven't taken the time to talk to either of us about our relationship at all.
Don't get discouraged. If it's something you strong believe in which I know you do, you will be fine.
