I think Dir en Grey is a name combined from 3 different languages: German, French, English.

So the internet stories go.
At this point, VK bands have been yoinking French, German, and English words and phrases, chopping them up and Japan-icizing them for as long as the genre existed.

French and German was very in vogue a couple of years back, you weren't a true blue VK band until you had a slightly French sounding name and had a song with snarled German in it.

Ah! I've been looking to find out how to pronounce Dir en Grey! Thank you!

I must remember its "deer in" and not "duhr en". xp

Or I can just call them Diru. xd

i thought the actual pronounciation of Moi Dix Mois was supposed to be Moy-Diz-Mwah.... :/

Maybe Mana meant it like that but if you pronounce it in French then you pronounce it Mwah Dee Mwah. And for some odd reason I think he meant it to be pronounced in French.
