I couldn't quite find an existing thread on finding the right Pantheon. So I figured here would be ok, for creating one.
I've yet to find one, to be honest. I've gone from greek, because it is what I'm familiar with due to reading the myths over and over when I was little. Then I researched some of the celtic myths and pantheon. Then, while I was studying my rune book, which goes more into the myths behind them, I got more into the Norse Pantheon. For some reason, I feel more drawn to pantheons closer to my ancestrial regions (Scotland, Ireland, Germany etc). But I just don't know how to go about things. I dislike the haphazard jumping around I've been doing, and I would love to find the pantheon that I can focus on, but I don't know which one.
Also, I've heard of gods or goddesses coming to a person in one way or another. So I've tried finding my signs, and such. But nothing more specific than the triple goddess in her varioius forms, or the varioius catch alls for the god, come to me. Which I've been quiet fine with. But I want to study more indepth. And when its so ambiguious, it makes it rather difficult.
Ideas? Methods? Experiances?
On a side note. How do you guys depict your gods and goddesses on your alters? Just curious.

My Goddess came to me. Through dreams, ourrances on the outside. I do have Irish/scots heritage along with Cherokee hertiage. So I am more interested in those paths, then the greeks. The greeks stories are nice and all. But I never had a connection to them. But I am very intersted in creation stories. Every mytho is almost the same. Great floods, etc. So we all have established that there was a great flood. But anyways!
I have a raven/crow candle and two items that are crows to show morrigan ( my goddess) and my totem the raven.

My god and goddess came to me in dreams and through what I call half-dreams. For me a half dream is when I'm trying to fall asleep and meditating and I just kindof slip into a dream like sequence and then I wake up. That's the best way to describe it. I always had a fascination with Egyptian everything growing up and that is how I eventually found my pantheon. For a long time growing up I had an interest in the Celtic deities because I am descended from the Celts of Gaul but I didn't feel as connected to them as I do the Egyptian deities.
