I just had a HORRIBLE day at work. There was so much to hate--I had to bury one of the kittens this morning so work was just dessert. He just didn't wake up, but was in terrible shape in any case. [Fading Kitten Syndrome] Now we're down to 3 from the 6 we had two weeks ago.
I didn't get that much sleep, probably from the New Moon [lunar cycle, but the other one would cause the same distress]. When I got to work, I had one really crappy customer who didn't speak English. They [there were several in actuality] spoke Spanish, and that's not my strong suit by any means. I recall the word "puta" which means whore, and then they actually made fun of me to my face. They kept saying how much money the total was, and then they'd look at me to see if I was paying attention. Then they'd laugh and whisper to each other. Even the people behind me noticed. Then, they said the final total and I ended up throwing their change at them and saying, "Je parle Francais. Pas Espagnol." [I speak French. Not Spanish]
I'm going to learn a few phrases just in case that happens again. Hopefully I'll never have to suffer that again. ******** rude.

Dumbasses. If you live in a country that speaks a different language than you, you're supposed to at least learn enough of it to be able to do basic things.
Sorry to hear about your kitties ;-;

Lucie Furr Oh noes! Was it the one that was stuck under the log? No, that little puffball's the strongest of the few left. Maybe I should find them all stuck between vertical traps. . . might make them tougher. Unfortunately it's survival of the fittest when the bigger kitties come in for the momma cat. It's like breastfeeding at 8. . .

0.0 It's called weaning! Bruce used to try suckling well after he was old enough to stop, eventually Sugar started pushing him away. If your momma cat doesn't, then you should probably spray them with water or push them away so they eventually get the message. That way the babies get stronger from more milk and the older ones don't get upset tummies.

Yeah, I know it's weaning. The big cats are hoarding the milk and the kittens are left to fend for themselves most of the time, but I haven't seen the big kitties feeding lately. Maybe because I will pick them up by the scruffs and shoot them into space. [They DO land on their feet! biggrin ] I've been giving the kittens bread and dry milk and they seem to be taking to it. Yay, no more fatalities!
