I just spent a long time reading about TMS on that HealthyStrokes website, and I heard it's bad for men, and probably women, too. But... I almost always use a pillow or folded up blanket. Is that bad?

female survay results on healthystrokes Highlights of the survey: * Females who masturbate prone [face-down] are less likely to have orgasms in intercourse than females who masturbate supine [face-up] * Considerably more females than males say masturbating is more fun than intercourse - 41 percent of females vs. 18 percent of non-TMS males * Females are more likely to learn how to masturbate from another person or from media (books, movies, etc.) than are males * Females get no more instruction from their parents about masturbation than males do * 86 percent of females stimulate the clitoris and 74 percent insert fingers and objects into the v****a * Females are 50 percent more likely than males to switch hands while masturbating * Among intercourse positions, women are most likely to reach orgasm when they are on top So they are currently trying to find out. Still, I think you should use your hands or some d***o-like object. A blanket or pillow seems kind of unsanitary and I don't see how it would be too much different from masturbating prone.

Well, since there is no bodily fluid coming in contact with the pillow of blankets, it's not unsanitary. It's... basically dry humping. And clitoral stimlation with a finger. Lying on my belly and straddling a folded up blanket. Like a woman-on-top sex position. That's why I wonder what's so bad about it. There's a "how sex works" book in the school library that says that woman-on-top positions are good if the man wants to stimulate the woman with his fingers (or the woman can stimulate herself) so I don't see what's wrong with a woman masturbating while sort of... humping a pillow. Why would sex that way be fine and masturbation that way be harmful? I haven't noticed any harmful effects... but I don't want to wait until they start to find out!

Try getting yourself a c**t stimulator instead of rubbing yourself face down on object. There are alot of adult toy sites that have small, discreat, and hideable toys. I think one of the problems with TMS is that your body gets used to stimulation through that once face down position. Which can make it difficult to achieve orgasm with real sex. (Because it'll only feel really good the one way you mastubated.)

Dunno. I finally read up on TMS and I start to see it as an issue for me since it's the only way I can get off and I have to have a lot of pressure.
But, if you can still get off in other ways, it's probably not as harmful. Maybe you should just rotate your methods so you don't become desensitized to other methods the way I have (now I have to go and resensitize myself.)

I've got to do the same as you. x.x I've been doing it this way for years, so my plan is to abstain for a while until I can get off face up.

Yikes. I'm glad I found out this can be harmful before I had any symptoms!
