-Here be my story-
Sarah walked into the hospital feeling elated. Her first official day in the Dayveiw hospital. Ever since she had been a little girl she had dreamed of becoming a nurse. She had a strong desire to help people that shown through, almost like an aura. She came into the break room where the other nurses were, she knew some of them already from the day before when she was being shown around. One woman who she recognised as Maria, a small hispanic woman that was a little round but very sweet, came up to her and embraced her.
"Hey chicka, how are you looking forward to your day?" She asked in a slight spanish accent.
"I can't wait to get started." Sarah replied, exstatically.
"Great because we got a serious haul of people in last night from the army base a few miles away. Some are looking to be in pretty bad shape. Some kind of reaction to a booster shot or something." Maria explained.
Sarah frowned a little as she did when she was absorbing information. She logged it all away in her brain.
"Booster shot my a**!!" A blonde woman who walked in from outside said, she reaked of cigarettes.
Maria's face went from concerned to tired as the woman walked in.
"It's the government using our tax dollars to experiment on people!! Booster shot, please, who's really gonna beleive that bullshit?! They think were stupid or something?" The blonde continued to rant.
Maria quickly picked up a chart and left the break room, taking Sarah with her.
"I've had to listen to that all damn night!" She said sounding tired.
Sarah smiled and shookher head. She had heard more conspiracy stories about the military and the government than she could count. It was ridiculous. Maria was doing rounds and Sarah helped her out. She was a natural for this. Sarah quickly realised that the people were really looking bad. Most had yellow or red in the whites of thier eyes, pale skin, and all they did was moan. It was gut renching. They did all they could with the information the military had given them, which wasn't much but by lunch four or the seven people were dead. Their veins turned black and thier eyes glazed over in death, Sarah would never forget it.
She didn't eat lunch that day, how could she not after what she had seen already. Now she could understand how the blonde woman thought that way way about the government. Later in the day people were called from all over the hospital to restrain one of the patients who had gone a little crazy. There were two doctor and three nurses in there as the young army man struggled and litterally growled at the people. Sarah couldn't help but notice that these sounds didn't seem like somthing humans made. In the chaos Maria got too close to the man's mouth and he bit into her arm. She screamed what Sarah though were obscenaties in spanish and the doctors pulled the man off of her. Sarah pulled Maria out of the room and looked at her arm to see that the man hadn't just bit her, he took a bite sized piece out of her arm. Blood poured out of him arm. Sarah couldn't help it but she looked back into the room. The thrashing man was chewing something...the chunk of Maria's arm.
Sarah turned away quickly before she vomited n the ground beside Maria. Maria patted her on the back and then started giving her instructions on what to do since she had to staop the bleeding. Sarah flawlessly followed the instructions and it wasn't long before the doctors and other nurse came out from restraining the patient. They checked out Maria who was starting to feel sick, and she wound up in another hospital room. Sarah became her attendant. The doctor said that they might have had a type of rabies. Which is why he bit Maria but the blonde nurse started ranting again and then suggested isolating the "infected" people and the doctors told her to go home.
Soon night came and being the low man on the totem pole Sarah got stuck with the night shift. Dr. Hollows was there with her which was nice. He was friendly enough, he talked a lot about his wife and new daughter they just had. Sarah found it cute. As time passed she looked at endless baby pictures and family photos. At around eleven he suggested Sarah go get them some food while he checked on the patients. She agreed and left to find a diner that would be open this late.
It took a wile for her to get thier food the kid that was working the counter didn't even seem to know how to properly tie his own shoes. The whole thing took her about an hour. She came back slightly irritated and took the food to the break room.
"Sorry it took so long but..." Sarah stopped when she noticed that there was no one else in the room.
She would have though he would have been done by now. She shrugged and put the food on the table before going out to see if she could be of any help. She wandered down the hallway towards where the military people were. She passed Maria's room and stopped. Her bed was empty. Sarah frowned. Earlier Maria had said she was to weak to lift her own arms, how could she have left her room? Sarah thought she should ask Dr. Hollows. She continued down the hallway till one flickered and went out in the distance. Sarah grumbled and kept walking. Suddenly she slipped in the darkness and landed in something wet. It felt think.
"Uhg! Gross!! I'm getting that lazy a** janitor fired in the morning!!" She exclaimed as she stood up again.
The light flickered again and turned back on. Sarah let out a scream that hurt her own eardrums. She stood there in a pool of blood and beside it was what was left of Dr. Hollows. His throat was gone, exposing the spine and his stomach was open. Half of his organs were missing and what was left of the ones there looked as though something had been eating them. Sarah screamed again and for the second time that day, vomited. She backed away from the corpse tears streaming down her face. She kept blubbering about nothing in perticular. Simply shock melting her sanity. She walked away numbly, half of her thought she was dreaming, it was some horrible dream that she would soon awaken from.
Until she heard the sound. A low sliding sound similar to what you think a snake would sound like, that froze her muscles in place where she stood. She was able to turn around to see the corpse f Dr. Hollows sliding towards her on its belly. The things dead eyes stared at her, it's head lolling to on side now unabe to support itself without any muscle. Sarah could only stare in disbeleif and told herself to wake up. Until, the thing that used to be Dr. Hollows, grabbed her leg. Sarah screamed and kicked the thing before she ran down the hall.
She ran down halls and around corners, not knowing where to go. She wound up by the nurses station. To her shock someone was there. Sitting in the chair turned away from her was Maria's back. All logic left her as she ran to her and grabbed the woman around the shoulders in a hug.
"Maria...Dr. Hollows...something..." She finished with a scream of pain as Maria sank her teeth into the soft flesh of her arm.
Sarah pulled her arm away as Maria turned around. Her eyes were glazed over in death and her viens were all dark like the dead soldeiers that were in the morgue. Her skin had turned a light yellowish color and blood poured from her mouth as she chewed Sarah's meat. Sarah screamed again and turned to run but there was another one right behind her, the one who had bit Maria. She screamed again as more came out of the shadows. All of them either patients or the soldiers that had been brought in. She was swarmed as the creatures grabbed her and began eating her alive!! Her screams echoed throughout the hospital with no one to come to her rescue.
When morning came the other nurses and doctors found body parts and lot's of blood. That was all. The hospital would be completly void of anything except a few piece that were left behind and lost of blood. That was until they went into the morgue to look at the other soldiers who had been stored there the day before.
