I posted a little about this before on the laughable ED forum. How in the inner city we get these teachers that live across the bridge, ya know usually white and clueless on our issues. (I want to copy and paste so bad but I think it's been a while)

Anyway I once I had an English teacher I guess either in 10th or 11th grade that was the master of subtle racism. When reading The color purple for (yeah Black History month) he made this remark:

Quote:
"Don't be offended by all the domestic violence in this book Black men hit their women alot it's part of their culture"

I rarely have an "Angry Black woman" moment but that kind of pushed that button. In short I went off in a very educated way I explain (a bit harshly) about how White people back in England and other European areas had all kinds of torture deceives for women including the The Branks, which was this metal head piece design to p***k a nagging housewife tongue and keep her silent. And under Queen Elizabeth I rule more than a million women were house in the Tower and torture especially those that dared to flirt with whoever the Queen was ******** at the time. (Because she was in fact a whore nothing virgin about her)

I then pointed out American slavery and how slave Massa John would rape his Black slaves and then give his white women the clamp, rednecks, and other WHITE customs of abuse.

I probably got a C in that class like I did in the one I walked out of but I don't care. His embarrassment was delightful and it boosted my popularity among my peers.

(Hell I'm sure the poor guy wished he had a Branks for me after that.)

College has had it's up's and down and I haven't put a professor on Blast yet. Though I think I might soon. stare

For record some of the dumbest people have PHD's.

Well I had the white teachers who grew up in black neighborhood or who had one black person in their neighborhood and listened to rap music and thought they understood the entire race.

IN middle school There was this one teacher came off speaking slang and acting hood. He always said yo son or yo god or yo dawg or yo ma at the beginning and end of every sentence. The worst part was no matter how many times I corrected the teacher. I mean I corrected this guy so many times I ended up teaching the class a few days. He was more loved and accepted among the kids and I was an outcast. Even adding salt to my wounds he told me I was out of touch with my race and that I was too beautiful for that and that he could give me private lessons after class on how to fit in.

Yes this guy hit on me constantly and just made me angry on how many kids just hung onto his every word. The things he would say just made me want to punch him. But I always wanted to punch the kids more for liking him. On black history month. I was always paired with this guy as his slave. He'd make comments like you be kizzie and I'll be the master.

The little friends I did have laughed at me when I told them what he said or did each day. I never told my parents and I just grinned and beared those 4 years with that teacher.

I would have left the class cause I can't deal that kind of stupidity and after that Kizzie comment I would have raise some serious hell. If I don't allow other blacks to call me a ****** I am damn sure not going to allow some white adult male call me a slave name. He was out of line.

I'm sorry you have to go put up with that.

Dont apologize. It's not your fault. I just figured then that I can deal with his stupidity. since I figured I wasn't the first and as long as he didnt touch me I was ok.

Ahahaha.
Ok.
4th Grade.
Let me give a bit of background. I grew up in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri. STL is very racially segregated and not many blacks lived in the 'county'. 'We' typically lived in the city... SO in order to support diversifying schools, they bused the 'city kids', or black kids in to my elementary school.
The buses that went to the city were numbered.. Buses 1, 2, 3, & 4.
The county buses were variants of 700.. i.e. 712, 714, etc.

Personally, I didn't ride any bus -- I was outside of the district, so my mother picked me up and took me to school.

When dismissal time came, the city buses left at about 3:05 whereas the county buses didn't leave until 20-30 minutes later.

Anyways, back to 4th grade. Walking down the hallway, sometime past 3:05 with my bestfriend towards the library. I get stopped by a teacher who didn't know me. She says to me "Young lady, you've missed your bus." I kindly asked her what she was talking about. She then told me that "buses 1,2,3,4 have already left" and she repeated that I missed my bus. I then told her that I didn't ride the bus. She didn't believe me. Apparently she thought I was trying to go home with my white friend and lie about not riding the bus.

I was pissed... :]

My mom was pissed.. I'm not sure if said anything though. Cause there was so much crap that went on, I think that was one of the lesser incidents. She was too busy trying to find out why they wouldn't allow me to be in Gifted and Talented .. probably because I would have been the only black, even though I had passed the IQ test thingy. rolleyes
