I'm watching this movie called Sleep Dealer right now; it's pretty crazy. It's mostly in Spanish, because it takes place in Mexico, but they watch American TV and American soldiers try and blow them up and stuff...
So far it's really, really cool. It seems like a sort of precursor to something like the Matrix, like how we ended up with all kinds of plugs in our bodies and stuff to connect us to computers. Oh, and they have this American show on cable where they use unmanned aircraft to blow people up, which is kind of how the movie starts.
Anyway it looks like you go to bars and get connected to things instead of taking drugs, and there's this guy there connected to a sound board, playing like seven instruments. It's really, really cool. One of the main characters is this girl, a "writer" who sells her memories online... The main character just got a job as a "node worker", and they plug into these machines, connected to robots, and do manual labor in America from these factories. So he's a construction worker in LA, but he just stands in this room, plugged into this machine...
