►xSo, my friend, we'll call her... Angela, is straight. Our other friend, Margaret, is lesbian. And Angela and I are obviously cool with it, but sometimes I think Margaret goes a little too far with Angela. For example, the other day during lunch, Margaret told Angela that she looked "very pretty". And, she said so again during Dance Fundamentals. Then, during Concert Choir, Margaret came up and hugged Angela and said that she was beautiful and that she should "seriously be gay". Angela replied, "No thanks, I'm fine being straight." Margaret said "No, seriously. You should totally be gay."
Now, I have nothing against gays, obviously, but I think this is going too far. Pushing your sexuality on someone, I mean. Angela obviously isn't gay, nor does she want to be. And when she tells Margaret that "it's ok, she's fine," Margaret tries to talk Angela into being gay. I would be very uncomfortable if I were straight and one of my lesbian friends was pressuring me into being gay.

yeah, that is a bit far. like, i'll tell people they're pretty, but only cuz i honestly think that they look nice. or i'll crush on people, but i'll get over the fact that their straight or that their taken or something like that. it's no big deal, and your friend needs to understand that "angela" is a lil uncomfortable by all this stuff.
it's not a joke. yeah, some people think it is, but it's not.

._. mayhaps yew should take her aside & be all "whoaaaaa calm down!" or something.
'cause being gay or bi is not a choice, & if it was someone doing stuff like that wouldn't convince anyone >________>

It's strange because I feel like the opposite of this is more common. Ya know, people trying to convince people to be straight. Either way it goes, it's wrong. Like AnnaBearAnonymous said, it's not a choice. If anything, that type of behaviour just pushes people away.

yeah, that's just not cool. it's fine to tell someone they're pretty, but pushing your sexuality one someone else is crossing the line. it's just as bad as angela telling margaret she should be straight. you might want to have a little chat with your friends margaret... confused

Tell Margaret that she of all people should understand that being gay is not a choice. Talk to her and tell her to back off. cheese_whine

whenever i say something like she said to one of my heteroguy friends, i don't mean it. obviously i can't make them gay by being "BE GAY LOL CUZ UR QT" so they're flattered and move on. i don't understand why this is such a big ol' deal. [ ' - '];

Wow, this Margaret person needs to get a clue.
Some people can be persuaded into experimenting but if it hasn't worked after X amount of times, does she really think annoying the girl will get her anywhere?!
