The sun was just starting to set. The cool breeze of evening swept over the field. The Autumn scent was in the air. The sound of crunching leaves trailed behind Samorn and Elysia, mother and daughter Phyri. The duo were on an outing to gather food for a dinner feast with the family. Elysia had sparked the idea from an earlier excursion with her mother, Samorn.
The tiny Phryi trotted close to her mother's heels, a slight skip in her step. The long blonde locks of her hair, that mimicked her father's, fluttered behind her ears. Elysia looped a finger through the red string that wove through the yellow mane.
"Look how long this one is Mommy!" Elysia giggled holding the ribbon as far out as she could. Just this morning Samorn had woven the new sting into her daughter's hair. Just now Elysia was noticing the length.
Samorn looked back and smiled to Elysia. "I know, I picked those long ribbons just for you!" She slowed her gait so that it was the speed of Elysia's, Samorn placed an arm acrossed the tiny Phyri's back, "But, we need to keep on task! Your father and brothers are expecting lots of yummy food for dinner and it is getting late. If we do not find the Sweet Mint leaves soon, we will be stuck out here in the dark all night! You wouldn't like that, my darling Elysia."
Elysia's eyes got wide. "No!" She cried sticking her tongue out. "I don't like the dark." The little phyri quickened her step and latched onto her mother's hand and continued off in search of the elusive Sweet Mint leaves that the two were looking for.

"Hee hee..Daddy and me and sissy makes three, and mommy makes four, and brother makes more!" alberon sing songed happily in his high little voice. Little hooves picking up in a light prance as he toddled alongside his father. A small bundle of twigs in his little arms, the purpose of which was to start a fire as the evening wore on, sitting by fires was always fun, and daddy started them so easily..and it was just too cool to watch!
As he sung his long tail whipped out behind him, swishing through the air hard enough to make a 'woosh' sound, the long ribbon tied to it helping with the noise quite a bit.
Dashiell carrying much larger twigs in his own grasp, stopping occasionally to snatch up any pretty flower he found. He couldn't help himself as he chuckled softly, listening to alberons song only managed to make him smile. "Us together and your brother make five little one, were a family of five" dashiell said sweetly to his excited little boy.
"Five! Gotcha..ahn..daddy? Why so many flowers with the branches..do they burn better" alberon asked curiously, his attention momentarily caught by the brightly bouquet that was steadily growing larger.
"No no, the flowers aren't for burning, their for gifting. Rule number one of dealing with women, you always treat them nicely. Rule number two is to always present them with flowers, its a good gesture." dashiell added with a short nod. Eyeing the small clearing and the den that adorned it with warmth, ah their little home...It was a simple glen but it worked well for them.
"Flowers are for girls not for fire..gots it!"
"Good boy"

Gainan yawned, streching his legs. He'd been growing a little, and was slightly bigger than his two younger siblings now, but still a child. Not fully grown yet, mother and father trusted him with leaving more often, though he hadn't forgotten seeing that crazy person back when he was incredibly small, barely able to talk. The event had shaken Gainan to his core even all this time later, and had steeled him for the lifelong task of becoming a warrior, worthy of his parents pride and protector of the family. Not that he didn't love mom and dad, but.....well, to be honest Gainan thought they were a little TOO lovey dovey sometimes. SOMEBODY had to take care of the family when father was too busy admiring mother, and who better than the eldest to go off and become a warrior of some sort?
But as of right now, he was carrying a mid-sized log on his back for firewood, as father had taken little Alberon out with him, probably to teach him what they could use for firewood and what they couldn't. Spotting their glenn, he smiled, galloping as fast as he could with the log and several good sized sticks inside it's hollow, only to slow as he came into the clearing. Turning, he spotted father and Alberon, sliding the log off his back and waving.

"Gainan!" Alberon gleefully waived back to his older brother, small golden red tail swishing out brightly behind him as he trotted up closer to greet him. He couldn't help but be extra bubbly in his big bro's presence. After all sometimes gainan was just soo...grown up...kinda moody in a loving sorta way that made him just feel like pestering the guy! "Wow, haha, looks like you got lotsa fire wood didn't you. Big bro's always gotta be so strong huh? Ya know what, I bet mommy and sis have the food ready by now" He was excited..and on top of it he was absolutely starvingggg...he wanted the fire to be done and the food to be ready.
Dashiell smiled softly at the pair, giving gainan a slight nod of acknowledgment. His oh so grown up little one..He couldn't help thinking of all his little one's as well..as little, even when he saw that some of them were getting so big. He found himself enjoying all these family gatherings all the more because of it, knowing that chances were his eldest would be entertaining thoughts of leaving soon, if he wasn't already. "No worries alberon, I'm sure they've got something there for you to snack on."
