Drop D tuning sounds so lovely, especially if you want to make some slow heart-y acoustic songs. Its fun to play some 'Zep with drop d also.

I'll stick with Standard, thanks. Should I get a hankering for detuned fun, that's where my 7-string comes in. 3nodding

I just don't like having to tune special for one song and then having to switch tuning.

I can go pretty damn low with my strings, but I've only ever lowered to Drop C.

celestasia I just don't like having to tune special for one song and then having to switch tuning. I agree. Unless I had a few guitars, then I'd leave one in a different tuning, but I'd only do that if I was actually going to use that tuning alot. If not, I just stick to standard.

I personally love drop D, cuz i get a nice heavy sound and i can get more riffs cuz it's easier than stretching your fingers like 5 spaces to get a cool riff, so I like it, and plus i don't drop full steps cuz its too much work like celestasia said cuz i only have one guitar and it's not cool doing it all te time just for a few songs. But i love standard.
