Something within 100-200$ range with good clean, but the ability to put on the gain. I'm a bit of a CRATE fanboy, but brand is not a big deal in the least to me. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Vox-Pathfinder-15R-Guitar-Combo-Amp-481948-i1145733.gc http://www.guitarcenter.com/Bugera-V5-Tube-Guitar-Combo-Amp-502586-i1470778.gc http://www.guitarcenter.com/Pignose-Hog-30-Amp-489056-i1146146.gc http://www.guitarcenter.com/Raven-RG60-60W-1x12-Guitar-Combo-Amplifier-104622659-i1385073.gc
I sadly, could not find anything CRATE in that range. Nyarh. Except for the Taxi. But that's not much of an upgrade on my current amp.

100-200? And you expect a huge upgrade?
Get a Roland Cube for $300something. Problem solved mang.

Yeah, You don't really "Upgrade" for $100-200. You could check on craigslist though and see if you find anything decent and used from some poor soul who needs the money bad enough to sell his Mr. Z to you for $75

Life long musical investment right there.

at that price I would recommend going with.... a pod. I know it's not an amp but you won't find any really good reliable amps in that price range. otherwise, save up for a bit. snag a blackstar.

Get a really small tube practice amp if you're not interested in gigging. Maybe a voxxxxx.

Those amps produce the only bright overdrive tone that I don't hate. Those things are amazing.
